Anyone else as pumped as me for Houston-based Blue October's new cd? It comes out on March 24th, I believe, and it's called Approaching Normal. I've been listening to their last album, Foiled, like crazy. I originally had a mix going in the car with them, and that's what got me going on the kick, but I love their music. It's just a little different from most of the stuff out there, and because of that, they've slowly vaulted up my list of favorite bands over the last couple of years. Who else is a Blue Meanie?
I saw them in concert at Rockefeller's on Washington back in 1998. Thought they would be popular, and looks like they've turned out ok
Back in high school, friends of mine were in Justin's previous band. Dude was, and probably still is, a prick. No thanks.
I saw him do a solo gig once. The only think I thought through the 2 songs I sat through was "What a c***sucker." Their music just screams fraternity douchebag rock. Not saying you are, EddieWasSnubbed. This is just the reaction I get when I hear them.
I met the singer in Blue October at an unrelated show at the Backyard in Austin. It was right after their song "Breakfast After 10" was released and was getting a lot of airtime on Austin radio. He was standing right next to me for most of the show. Found out later he was in Blue October. He was really cool, totally laid back. I've always liked their music, especially the lyrics. Personally, I try not to judge someone's art based on their personality. I reserve that for basketball players
ive seen them live about 10-12 times. a good friend of mine did sound imaging for them here and there. anyways loved there first two albums answers and cosent to treatment. there third album the one with calling you on it thought was pretty good. and cant stand there record foiled. seriously listened to it a few times and never bothered again. ive helped the band set up for shows including the one they did for there dvd recording in dallas. went out to eat with and hung out with them a few times the singer is a very very nice guy so i dont know where people would think otherwise. sadly i dont have much hope for there new cd.
