Yea this play pretty f**king upset me during the game. This is not just the first time i seen Artest did this. When you see him trying to be the hero of the game like he did in Chicago or LA or when the game is on the line, you know and you can just sense that mothfker just want to ignore Yao and want to take it upon his shoulder to try to do it all. I was like Yao is post up and had his man sealed off....give him the damm ball instead of dribbling around like an azz...wtf is he doing. Sometimes i do feel like Artest want to be involved more in the offense, BUT THIS IS NOT THE TIME!! Got to be smarter and pass to Yao, it's your best chance of winning.
When he didn't pass the ball to Yao and cause Yao to produce an illegal pick, i was pretty upset and wish Yao come to Artest and say "what the **** are you doing...give me the damm ball instead of dribbling like an azz. Didn't you see me sealing off my man and was open..you f*****." This is also i hate about Yao, he needs to step up and be more vocal and assert himself and see his potential rather than defer to somebody all the time.
LMAO! While that play by Ron was stupid, I can't hate him for his competitiveness. He wanted to win the game so badly for the Rockets. He usually makes good decisions when it counts though. That block at the end of the game was "risky" because of a potential foul being called for whatever reason, but it shows Ron's commitment to the team.
dude yao had single coverage for the ENTIRE possession and yao was raising his arms in disbelief for most of the time and ron was staring at yao in the face for most of the possession. and yao had just made 2 shots in a row just now. and yet he kept dribbling and dribbling and dribbling. when he couldn't get by gerald wallace the first time, pass it. or the 2nd time. or the 3rd time. so yes, that was arguably one of the dumbest basketball plays i have ever seen.
competitiveness is greatly appreciated. who doesn't like it? but be smart about it. the point was obvious. he wanted to be the hero of that game. yao was facing single coverage for almost the entire game and just made 2 shots in a row just now and you have him wide open calling for the ball and your competitiveiness tells you not to pass??? c'mon now. artest has come up dumb 2 straight games now. v. a great team, we lost. v. a bad team, we escaped. let's get back to being the role player artest we all know and love. there's a reason i didn't criticize him in the first 3 quarters despite shooting miserably. why? he didn't force anything. shots will go in eventually. i just watch how he plays.
Nobody sid he didn't play hard and wasn't competitive......WE THINK HE MAKES STUPID and SELFISH decisions alot of the time.
"You will be isoed Yao" Artest just realizes he's more clutch than Yao and that statistics show a high probability of a turnover if he pass Yao the ball in the post during crunch time.
I don't wanna see Yao got killed by blaming Artest. Ron is stupid sometime but I like his toughness anyway. I just notice Ron has a great FG% when he shot in a more ugly and out of rhythm way. Interesting...
Results: 1.he was trying to be hero,we lost game (chi) 2.he was trying to be hero,we lost game (lakers) 3.he was trying to be hero,we almost lost (cha) all these bcz he was trying to play 1 on 5.
Ron makes plays and he makes mistakes. That's the way it goes, but he's such a competitor and he's not scared of the moment. You either live with it or u don't.
As a team we still makes a lot of silly plays. There's been numerous times that Yao has his man pinned but Brooks and Artest refused to pass the ball. And who can forget the dumb foul on Yao when he got fouled out.
