Okay i hate both of these guys, but I'm in an argument with another guy that Kobe is better than Lebron and the MVP this year. Can somebody give me some information to support my case. Apparently Lebron is leading stat wise. But i still think Kobe is the best, and the MVP. thanks guys
I also believe Kobe is better, I could careless who is the MVP at this point. LeBron is going to win no matter what due to how much hype he gets over every single player in the league. It's hard to support, because EVERYBODY uses Stats to determine everything. These are the same people who probably think Jose Calderon is a Top 10 PG when clearly he isn't even better than T.J Ford.
I don't get it. You've seemed to already have made up your mind, and yet you're asking for information to support your case. Why do you think Kobe Bryant is more deserving of MVP? If I understand your reasoning, then maybe I can help provide some supporting evidence.
LeBron is better and probably deserves to be MVP. Kobe is just more clutch. All Kobe really does anymore is pull up and fadeaway which makes his game fairly predictable albeit still unstoppable. LeBron drives and gets to the line much more yet can still pull up and bury shots in your face if you play off of him. Furthermore, Kobe has always been a good defender but LeBron has since surpassed him in that regard. I'd rather have Kobe or Wade in the 4th quarter of a close game but if we're talking who I would rather build my team around or have for the first three quarters of the game it's definitely LeBron.
just seeing them both live this year, Kobe just looks better. And if i wanted to win a game, i want kobe with the ball. just wondering if i could still some input from yall.....
James for me. The lakers are far more talented, probably the most talented team in the league. James seems more mature to me. Kobe a little bit of imposter.
How about Kobe is the best player in the league but LeBron is having a better season thus far. That's possible.
Whats the 4th quarter numbers for them?? Judging from overall knowing about both players i would go with Kobe.... He is def more clutch but then again, Kobe been in the league longer
see i hear that a lot. but people like powell and luke walton...????? is it just that kobe makes them better?
So LeBron has one of the top 3 statistical seasons since PER was invented (yeah stats aren't everything, but that IS impressive, isn't it?) and his team is tied for the best record in the league despite having only 1 true all star (Mo Williams got in after 2 others bailed out) and he's only going to win because of "hype"?
It's hard to build up a strong case based on a player just looking better. That's totally subjective. Some guys might be more impressed by LeBron ability to rip through defenses and get to the basket, or his ability to make ridiculous cross court passes with precision. Other guys are impressed by Kobe's post moves and his ability to take and make difficult shots further from the basket. Here's one thing I can say in Kobe's favor. If you look at his stats versus the best teams and the worst teams, they really don't change much. With LeBron, he'll put up much better numbers against the bad teams than the good teams. On the whole, if you tried to plot it, LeBron and Kobe are about even (based on the boxscore) against the top teams, while LeBron pulls ahead based on his success against the bad or average teams.
Not really. MVP is decided by an 82-game schedule, not a small handful of games. I can see why people think Kobe is the better player. I think there's a pretty even case either way on that. But that's not the same thing as being most valuable. Kobe has the luxury of pacing himself throughout the game, and he really picks his spots. LeBron just does more each game. That doesn't necessarily make him "better", but it does mean that his team depends on him more to win. And considering that Cleveland and LA have basically the same number of wins, to me that makes LeBron "most valuable".
LeBron will win MVP, but IMO i still think Kobe is better because of the way he takes over the game. You challenge him and he just gets better. However, if LeBron plays like the way he did this season, he will surpass Kobe
You're damn right. That's exactly what I think. LeBron really deserves it and has nothing to do with hype.
