I was thinking about this the other day and as much as we'll need a scorer, which can't be any more apparent from our last few games, not sure if "he's the one," since 1. He'll most likely not opt from 20 mil over 2 yrs since many teams won't have money to offer him if he does opt out 2. If he comes to Houston via trade, who would you give up for him? I wouldn't make the deal as much as I like Crawford albeit a streak shooter since you'll be having to give up at least 2 guys for a salary match doubt DM would trade mac over the summer until teams become desperate around the deadline. I would go after Butler again in the offseason since Grunsfeld might be out the door. Go Rockets!!!
why is everyone suggesting all of these scoring guards?? We dont need that, we need RELIABLE shooters. Who do we have that is really just a pure shooter? Barry. That's it. As much as others can hit the three like wafer, shane of old, brooks, they aren't that type of shooter. The kind that when they're wide open you know it's going in every time. The kind that may not make them all every game, but he's never really going to be in a slump either.
I think he is fast enough, he just have stamina problems, so it will be Yao and Scola, but with him subbing both.
Jamal is a good player but I don't think he would be a good fit on this team. He's your prototypical volume shooter that performs erratically and needs the ball in his hands to be effective. He's a member of the dying breed of ISO-players that the NBA has essentially phased out in favor of more structured and efficient offenses. He's overpaid and not a good defensive player too. He just doesn't seem like a player Morey would be too fond of.
