In the past we have said they do not put picks based on team needs but is that still the case this late in the process. Also they in the pass month seem to have the hands on the pulse and being fairly spot on. Are they in this case? Could this be the reason why Dun put is name in? http://www.nbadraft.net/
I think after the lottery they'll really start to assess team need more. I mean, they provide draft coverage year round, I would think they would try their best to make an accurate mock draft based on team need.
I do think that Dunleavy will not go over Jason Williams. However, if Memphis ends up with the third pick, does anyone really see them passing on Dunleavy? Especially now after hearing that Woods isn't near ready enough to come into the NBA. And with Jerry west at the head, I don't see them taking Wagner over Dunleavy, so who else would they pick?
Well yeah, then they'd definitely take Ming. But I was assuming that Ming and Williams will be the first two taken. I'm sure the Grizzlies would also take Jay Williams witht the third pick if he was available. For some reason, I doubt that Jerry West is a big "White Chocolate" fan.
Moe, you strike a chord deep in my gut that you are right. However I did see like zero college ball last year.
You know, DCkid, i actually thought that, too. But i read somewhere that j-will and west have a good relationship because of their west virginia ties. Is that where west went to school? I think so. I know that's where whitey chocolate grew up, so...you never know.
I'm fairly certain Mike Dunleavy - Jr or Sr - doesn't read such a website as www.nbadraft.net, one whose strength is merely finding international players. They rarely, if ever, get the mock draft right at any point in the process and seem just to throw out some names. Instead, Dunleavy very likely got his information from talking to NBA scouts and GMs to get an idea of where he'd be drafted. This may have included the Clippers, who must be high on them (though the feeling, obiously, is not reciprocal).
No Mock Draft sight ever even comes close to getting the draft right. I love www.nbadraft.net! If nothing else it at least gives you an idea of who the top prospects are year round.
Clark you got me wrong. I was saying that Dun may have heard that he could go #2, from a GM or senior scout, and then decided to go. I did not think that the decision is based on anything he say at the website. I think nbadraft.net is as good as it gets.
