Is it just me or does anyone notice when he drives to the basket and gets covered by 3 players, he just throws up a prayer and doesn't pass? I saw it a few times last night and have noticed it in other games.

Love Wafer's passion to get it to the basket, but he needs to pass it off instead of throwing up a wild shot.

wafer is decent when he's hitting his shot, but the guy has to have the lowest bball IQ out of anyone on the team to go along with probably the most selfish play... the word "pass" isn't even in his vocabulary.

for as many times as i love him, there is almsot an equal amount of time in which i loathe him.

I will take his aggressive play over passive play any day of the week.

We need more Wafer, less Battier.

He will find players around the basket, but you're right he rarely looks to kick it out for a 3-pointer. And when he does, there's a good chance it will be a turnover.

Lowry is by far our best drive and kick player. It would be nice if we had more of those, because a lot of our perimeter players just aren't very good finishers in the lane. Feigen mentioned it in his blog; Aaron should look for his stop and pop jumper more often when he gets inside the defense. Earlier in the year, that was money for him.

Yup, he reminds me of a young J.R. Smith. He was pretty out of control early on too... I think Wafer will evolve similar to the way Smith has because they both play the same role on the respective teams.

If so, then we have something nice to look forward too...

wow, u guys are relentless. Wafer has the only 20 point game and kept us in the game with his clutch shots and yall can only find a way to criticize him? You do realize that he's only 23 and he's realistically in his rookie season since he barely played on the other teams he was on. Give him a break, there are always going to strengths and weaknesses for every player, ****in live with it. And the strength that Wafer brings to the Rockets (quickness, aggressiveness, and athleticism) are what we dearly need. Stop complaining.

Did J.R. Smith have trouble finishing his drives? Wafer blows a lot of layups. He's a great athlete, but he seems to lose focus when he gets to the rim.

He is going to fast....watch the difference in his finishing early on the floor versus later....he is rushing earlier, and then gets in the flow and gets much more consistent once he finds his rythmn.

Von played better as a starter, it may be time to insert him in the starting lineup and bring Battier off the bench.

lol, my boy Von is a black hole. Once you give him the ball, you won't see it again. Kenny Thomas would be proud. :D

I'm not knockin his overall game. I just think his penetration to the basket (which I'm very grateful for) can open up shooters.

I am glad somebody else noticed it as well...

When Wafer has to bell in the paint, he is NOT GONNA PASS IT. That's a little bit selfish.

But I still like the fact that he drives...

Wafer does pass it....but only after he is in the game a bit......

I think he is PUSHING it because he knows that if he is not scoring he is going to be benched.

I believe if you increase his minutes, and he KNOWS he is going to play more, he will settle down and pass the ball more often.

Before the trade that brought in Kyle Lowry,he's the only guy who drives hard enough to the rim that could get his foul calls and to the free throw line. He's a little bit selfish but we should take a look at the bright side of his plays, his passion and energy bring about something that could change the momentum on the floor, especially his treys.

After the trade done and Lowry on the roster and comes off the bench,we get 2 guys who like to penetrate the paint and attack the hoop, either they get their free throws or turn the ball over, but it's decent job done by 'em when we can't even hit the outside shots.

I love this guy,but maybe he should pay more attention to his passes,if so,he would be an all-round player at the very least. :p

    "He's outta control!" - Regis

Yea...I've noticed that, when he makes up his mind to drive, he is in full attack speed mode to the basket. Passing doesn't seem to be an option at that point. He will try to shoot it regardless...even if three guys are in his face or the shot will obviously be blocked. He needs to work on seeing when something isn't there and pass it out to someone who is open.

So, I agree. He has tunnel vision to an extent. He obviously wants to score when he has the ball but he has to remember this is a team game and he can't do it all alone. He can be better at utilizing his speed when he drives to draw people to him and then finding the open man. He doesn't always have to lay up a prayer.
