LOOKING FOR A FINISHER? SOMEONE WHO CAN MAKE BIG SHOTS DOWN THE STRETCH TO WIN GAMES?

Yup, thats him...our most clutch player. I know he is too little and his basketball IQ is too low to trust him with the ball down the stretch. But he is the only Rockets player who is not afraid of taking big shots down the stretch. Did anyone see that 4 point play yesterday when we looked done? That was sick. If his basketball IQ is low, have lowry in there handling the ball (Move Artest to F position and point Battier to the bench). That way we can run plays to get AB wide open. Or that pick n roll with Yao, thats deadly because there is no center in the nba that can match his speed on the switch and stop him from getting to the basket.

We have tried going to Yao and we know what happens to him in the 4th. We tried Ron Artest but he has fallen in love with the jumpshots just like T-Mac. Von Wafer can make some big shots but he is too streaky (inconsistent). When he is on, he can make 5-6 shots in a row, but when he is not, he is a big liability. So the only guy we can trust down the stretch is AB. He is like a much smaller and quicker version of Deron Williams (I know he is nowhere near as talented as DW, but I was talking about the ability to put the team on his back and make big shots).

Agree/Disagree? If you disagree, then who else do you see that could take over for us in the 4th?

    DISCUSS!!!

I'm down for Brooks having the ball at the end of the game.

That's about all we've got for now. But he won't be eliminating the need to acquire someone like that in the offseason.

If you're gonna post all that, shouldn't you at least change your sig first so you don't look like a hypocrite?

Seriously though, I agree that Brooks is one of the few people on this team that I would trust taking a big shot at the end of a game. Battier has completely fallen off the planet with his shot (the shot in Denver actually proves how cold he actually is.....he said that it felt terrible, and he released it wrong, because he had no time to think), and it looks like he's simply aiming the ball at the hoop. Artest takes too many jumpers to begin with, and I would say a solid 75% of them are contested. Yao in the 4th is a liability when the opposing team starts throwing second and third defenders at him from all kinds of angles, which you can fully expect to happen in the playoffs. Teams have learned that when you get Yao out of his rhythm, he hurts the team because he turns it over far too much. Aaron is the only one who has a consistent jumpshot, but also has the speed to give a pump and take it inside.

    Agreed.

Our rotation at the end of the game needs to have Brooks on the floor and Battier off the floor offensively. Defensively, we need Battier and Lowry out there.

So, offensively we really should go Brooks, Artest, Yao, Scolandry, and either Lowry or Wafer.

Defensively, down the stretch, we should go Lowry, Battier, Artest, Yao, Hayes.

WHAT? How does my sig make me a hypocrite? I have been on AB band wagon and have this sig since preseason when Wafer had that big game and said this in the post game interview. It doesn't say "Aaron Brooks is THE problem". It says Aaron Brooks is a problem...for opposing teams.

GAWD why do we have to explain everything to the fine details for people to understand.

Lol yea I remember the interview where Wafer said that. Good stuff, taken WAY out of context.
