Had a career ERA below 4 coming into this season. At 29, he's not old. Yeah he's sucked so far this season, but you could say that about most of Houston's pitching staff. After Wagner and Dotel, there aren't many proven arms in the pen.
Well, Cruz did miss most of spring training, so his arm strength is not what it should be, I think. I believe the only reason he isn't in the minors getting his strength back is because the team seriously needs bullpen arms right now, so they are sticking with him. But his start has been very discouraging. Nelson was supposed to be one of the consistent arms in our pen this season, instead he has been one of the worst.
