Physical the two got int a scuffle in the game (turn out to be bad for artest because kobe lite him up) and talked whole lot of trash when kobe was shooting free throws but when the game was over they didn't even shake hands. They got a beef or will artest call kobe tomorrow and ask him to be in one of his rap videos.
the lakers postgame, Kobe said they go way back and Artest does talk but it was all fun. On the ESPN segment, they slowed it down and Ron was saying "You aren't ready for me" then they show Kobe and he says "I'm not ready for you, (laughs) I have 31 points now"
i like ron's toughness, but he needs to check himself at times, you don't talk **** to Kobe like that, i dont care if its Ron, Shane, Garnett, Ben wallace, whoever on him, he will step up and make you pay. You might be able to get away with it in a blowout, but that's the worse thing you can do in a close game because he will score...
I don't care if he talks smack, just back it up. Don't light a fire under one of these most potent players in the league and try to boast on your 0 for 7 three's and HORRIBLE decisions in the 2nd half (TO's, going for a steal 25 ft out with 4 seconds left, fouls in the penalty). If he would have flowed with the offense instead of trying to win it by himself, the outcome would have been very different. I guarantee Kobe was laughing all night at this. Ron thinks he is getting into Kobe's head and the entire time Kobe is racking up points left and right while Ron couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. That's what Kobe does though. And Ron fell right into his hands tonight.
Artest is obviously an intense enough guy when things are calm, so these altercations really don't help his game. Rather, they just seem to get him overcharged and take him out of his rhythm. After the little scuffle with Bryant, for example, when the Rockets came down the court, Artest ignores the offensive set and immediately launches a three as if to show up Bryant - and misses. That said, I loved how right after that scuffle, Kyle Lowry came over to Artest, grabbed the veteran's head and stared straight into his eyes to get him to calm down. The kid continues to impress me with his leadership skills.
Seriously, it was VERY HUMILLIATING. Trash, and basket, laugh, and good defense, trash and another basket, laugh and another good defense, another brick or turnover by Ron... Kobe is not only a much better player than him, but also a much smarter guy. He pissed on him, it was ridiculous, very humilliating int he 4th quarter. But hey, a dumb like Ron deserves that and more.
in a way kobe gets into your head by letting the other player think that his getting in his(kobe) head
I'm pretty sure Kobe would've blown up on scoring with or without Ron provoking him cuz that's what superstars do...
Kobe got into Ron's head and made him play one-on-one and outside the offense to win the personal battle. Very disappointing.
