Yao needs to learn how to seal off his man. He couldn't keep Pau behind him to save his life.

    Terrible. :(

And someone needs to check Yao's shoes.....I think there's cement in them.

Of course not, how can it be Yao's fault when the one consistent fact throughout his career has been his utter inability to block off players behind him and him consistently failing to catch the ball and HOLD it, whether it be on passes or rebounds?

Yao is that choir boy that you just feel bad pointing out his weaknesses, he is just so darn cute!

Its all on the current coaching staff. The old regime basically taught Yao everything he knows currently in the NBA... how to fight off to get position, the hook shot, the pick and roll, how to play 1-on-1 defense.... he did NONE of this back in China. He was simply getting by on his height and some suprising dexterity for a 7'6 guy.

What has Yao added to his game the last two years with Adelman and co.?? Absolutely nothing. Years 2-4 featured subtle but noticeable IMPROVEMENTS... and even got him to be aggressive for not just an entire game but stretches of games.

He's regressing because the current staff expects him to be able to do it by himself. He can't. He needs to be taught, drilled, remediated, tutored every second of every day until his body (or his mind) decides he can't take it anymore.

The Rockets will have real problems come playoff time. Every game is close and if you don't have a reliable scorer that can DRIBBLE and penetrate then your chances aren't that good. Our best two players are also the worst at dribble penetration at their perspective positions. If we have to rely on Wafer and Brooks to score in crunch time, then this team isn't going anywhere. This is when you need a player like McGrady (the retro version).

Easiest way is to trade him this summer for a better player like Gasol or Randolph. The thing is you can say he played bad or outplayed by Gasol (which is true), but you can't say he is unclutch since he got few touches in the 4th. Brooks can't play pg and he can't pass well. Artest went crazy and we lost.
