I believe that the number one obstacle that this team has been and still faces is the “IF” factor.

    IF they remain healthy.
    IF they acquire another piece.
IF they make it out of the 1st round.

I have a really good feeling about this team that the Rox are putting out every night, and I am confident that they have what it takes to get past this issue.

They already know how to deal with injuries, and with the lessons learned in that department I don’t see how they (injuries) can be a crippling issue going forward. I think the “IF” factor is the only thing that is keeping this team from being the best in the league.

When this team can start a season with no questions going into and coming out of training camp, and complete a season with no drama; I feel that that the next and biggest step for this team will have been taken.

I started a thread last week commenting on the mediocrity that I felt this team had been showing in the last few seasons… And after a lot of thought, I came up with this as a conclusion.

I’m just saying... thats my thoughts

I'm sorry, but i dont think this conclusion required a lot of thought, its always been the biggest issue for Houston. It's not even about acquiring anyone else and maybe not even about making it out of the first round. It is, and has been about health. If they are healthy they get past the first round without a doubt. If healthy they can definitely get to the conf finals , possibly the finals and i think they can beat any team in the east, except for maybe Cleveland if lebron goes nuts.

You can't really deal with injuries, only with the healing process. Injuries is something they just have to cross their fingers about and hope they dont happen.

Isn't that case with most teams and sports, NBA, NFL, or etc.

What if Tom Brady was healthy this year?

What if Indy actually had a home game that they were supposed to have, because of a better record, add Atlanta to that list to?

What if Amar'e didn't go down with injury?

What if Bynum didn't get hurt last year, do the Lakers fortune change against the Celtics?

What if Plaxico didn't shoot himself?

What if the Celtics implode, because of Starbury?

What if Shaq stayed in Miami, do the Heat compete for another title?

What if the Spurs actually made a deal for VC, in case Ginobili gets injured again in the playoffs? Also, what if he were healthy last year, does that change their fortunes against the Lakers?

We aren't the only team that goes through that . . .

What if the Rockets drafted Clyde Drexler instead of Ralph Sampson and Rodney McCray, both of who went before Drexler. And Drexler went to the University of Houston! What were they thinking???

    What if

What if the Rockets scored more points than their opponents in every elimination game?
