I love having 2 legit post option in the starting lineup. If they can't get it to Yao, give it to Scola and he will make it. Its the first time in a while the Rockets have had that.
There is something else Luis brings to the table - unpredictacbility for the opponent. He has great variety of hustles and moves that imho makes whole team harder to study. If you look at some other teams you mostly know what you're gonna get. With Rockets, due to great share of Luis, you don't know what you're gonna get.
That fact that there is debate about who the third scorer IS, as opposed to does the third scorer exists, shows that this is a good TEAM.
But the fact is, there really shouldn't be a debate. Its Scola. If you look at his stats for this season, I think (not positive but pretty sure) he is usually right up there with all scorers in the number of double digit games besides probably being our team's double double leader.
Please don't overrate Scola as well. A very good role player that is. He can't and won't be a first option on any NBA team.
I think you're right. Our big three is: Yao, Artest, and the rest of the team. Everyone else is our third scorer.
Well, I'm not trying to make the debate "who is the 3rd best player on the team", but more "is said 3rd best player good enough to be considered a 'third scorer'"? We've always had a 3rd best player on the team, but was that guy ever good enough to be considered a "3rd scorer" should be the question.
