This Thai Gourmet place is like 4 blocks from my apartment... I think I'm going to try it tonight. Any suggestions? I eat only seafood or vegetarian the the moment, and I can handle spicy.
I really like Thai Lanna on the loop at 18th (290). It used to be called Vung Thai but ownership changed hands and the place went down hill. Thai Lanna brought the cook from Vung Thai back and the place is great again. Not much on ambiance, but really good food.
they don't have good pad thai. i'd go somewhere else for that. i know i'll get bashed for this, but i enjoy Pei Wei's pad thai (not that i'm recommending you go there for it).
QFT K A N O M W A N ! ! ! Get their Tom Ka Gai soup - it's more addictive than crack (but expensive).
Ooh, hey, my one o'clock canceled. Have you had any lunch? Yeah, but I usually have three or four. So where to eat? You like Thai? Tie good. You like shirt?
if you're looking for good thai food and a great atmosphere for a date, got to Thai Bistro off of Buffalo Speedway and 59. it's awesome! plus, my mom is a cook there.
Also known to those in the know as Telephone Thai, as it's on Telephone Rd. in the 3rd Ward. Excellent place, very nice on the inside once you find it. I also really like Nit Noi, preferably the location on Richmond near the Galleria. The joint in Midtown isn't as good. Great red curry and very good pad thai.
I can't believe people on here are suggesting such crap. I am an avid thai food fan, so let me help you out. THESE PLACES ARE GREAT: Thai Gourmet Kanomwan Erawan Thai Jasmine THESE PLACE ARE CRAP AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS: Nit Noi Thai Pepper Thai Cottage Thai Spice Trust me on this. This is one thing I know a lot about.
i respect your opinion, and am not a nit noi or thai spice fan, just do me a favor and get an order of red curry at thai cottage and report back just on that dish.
Alright, will do. I actually almost didn't put thai cottage on the list cause it's not awful like the others. I've just never liked it much.
Sabai Thai in Bellaire was the bombbbb before they closed down. They have a location left in Sugarland, but it's not the same.
like i said earlier, i dont think any of their other dishes are that good. their curries with some rice jammed in there are like crack to me though. have you been to Nidda?
