Another PSA Knee Jerk: Ainge is right, Bibby > Francis

Wow big different, Mobley averaged 21.7 ppg and Francis averaged 21.65 ppg. Mobley takes more shots and plays more minutes per game than Francis, so he should be our scoring leader. Francis is better than him. If Francis wasn't injured he would be our scoring leader.

 

Okay, let me try to write this without any smilies, irony or anything, to make sure it is understood.

mofroshow, hp was just mimicking DaDakota's numerous posts about how just about everyone that has a great game is better than the Rockets, Francis in particular and how that game was THE GAME THE WAY IS SUPPOSED TO BE PLAYED!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think hp REALLY thinks Bibby is better than Francis and the scoring leader reference was just to throw you off even further.

Until next year ZRB when the board will be chock full of posters who "knew Steve was awesome all along" after his first good game. Then it will be full of "see, Francis isn't a point guard" after his first bad one. Then someone will acuse someone else of being a "hater". Then the "hater" poster will accuse the first poster of "not being a real fan".

Ahhhh isn't the BBS world wonderful.

 

You couldn't come closer to the truth than that, H-town. I think you summed up this BBS perfectly in one succinct post....

 

Let me be clear on my point about Francis. I think he is already AWESOME, but as the leader and star of the team, I expect more from him then other players.

In order for a team to be sucessful, the leader has to elevate the level of play for the whole team, and that generally requires a committment on defense and a committment to sharing the ball on offense.

Steve has yet to prove that he has that committment. Yes, he says the right things and shows tremendous heart, but that is not enough.

Actions speak louder then words, and when Steve shows, by his actions, I will be the first to stand on the table and scream...YES !!!

I just don't know what you mean by sharing the ball on offense.

Mobley certainly got his touches this year, so did Kenny. Both players usually needed a one-on-one play to score. Francis did a fine job of keeping Cato involved, and he always seemed to find Moochie for a three at the right time.

Who else was he supposed to share the ball with?

I can understand you criticizing his defense, or lack thereof; and the fast break was a problem. But please explain to me, in what way was Francis a ball-hog, as you seem to be insinuating?

 

I think if you stuck Bibby in Houston in place of Francis, Houston would do worse and if you stuck Francis in Sacramento in place of Bibby, Sacramento would be worse as well.
