Do the Rockets have the toughest schedule left. 18 games left and 13 against teams that are really really good. Well one thing for sure we can catch everyone except LA if we win all our games.
Sorry, I should explain that SOS should answer your question. It looks like, to this point, we have had the 2nd easiest schedule in the league. Although not necessarily true, it means that we probably have the second most difficult schedule remaining in the league. In any event, a quick look at our schedule makes it clear that it gets very difficult the rest of the way.
While it is difficult, it means we control our destiny. Teams with easier schedules...will play teams that don't matter and will hope for other teams to lose...while if we drop a game...like Laker game...then we can turn around and beat San Antonio and kinda make up our loss.
Dang...I had no idea how brutal it was.. @ Spurs and then @ Utah..woww and then a rest game with the clippers followed by @Phx, @ Lakers and home games to Portland and Orlando..Dang those two weeks are hell right there.
Victories will steel our resolve and strengthen our confidence for the trial that is the playoffs. Blessing in disguise imo
The stretch we're in sucks now too, not so much because of the competition but because of the scheduling. Starting with the Chicago game we're playing 10 games in 15 days. 4 back to backs including 4 games in 5 days. Yeah, 8 of the 10 games in this stretch are parts of back to backs. That sucks. Playing in Utah and in Denver and against San Antonio on the 2nd game of those back to backs. That's rough. And then from March 25-31 we play one game. One game for an entire week. 3 days off, game, 3 more days off. Couldn't we have spread this out a little bit more? We're playing 5 games a week at the beginning of the month and 1 game a week at the end of the month? This schedule is freakin' r****ded. At least we should be rested for the Suns and Lakers games in April.
One Coin, Two Sides. We k say the schdl is tough, but in other hand, it will help Rox to upgrade faster to make great noise in the games in May,June.
Though it may hinder our final spot in the standings, I believe that a tough final stretch of the regular season can only help us come playoff time. We had a pretty cupcake schedule during our 22 streak last year and look where we ended up. (not saying that's the only reason )
Hollinger SOS is a joke. This is what he uses to measure it. SOS: average winning percentage of opponents played Anyone who knows math means that these values will converge to 0.500 as the season progresses....and guess what...that is what is happening. The numbers are being compressed. During the beginning of the season we had very large spreads and now numbers are compressed between 0.526 and 0.482. Not a lot of difference here. What is the standard deviation? Without a notion of the standard deviation these numbers may not mean much. I bet that these numbers are not statistically significantly different.
