Dude has been that needed piece the team has been searching for. Mr. Do-it-all. Scola rocks! Definitely our MVP of the week.
One of the best hustle players in the league, underrated scorer and rebounder. I love this guy, You know what he's going to bring every game.
Scola tends to have problem with physical PFs. But he has really impressed me by learning fast from his prior struggles against some opponents and came back strong the next time against the same people.
His hustle is the heart of this team. Scola does all that he does even though he is a little undersized.
I don't know all of Scola's measurements but I believe his height is 6'9 w/out shoes. He is listed at 206 cm tall on all his Euro player profiles and I believe they use true height overseas in most cases. 206 cm is actually over 6'9. That would make him at least 6'10 w/ shoes (NBA height). Drexler referred to him as 6'10 during one of the last two games. He must be aware of the fact that his listed height is his true height and not his NBA height. And he's not undersized in terms of his frame. He has a solid build. I don't know his reach and wingspan but he seems to be about average in those two areas. He may not have as much athleticism as a lot of other PFs but I don't see any evidence that points to him being physically undersized. By NBA standards, our starting frontcourt consists of a 7'6 C and a 6'10 PF.
This guy has become my favorite Rocket. What great hustle he shows. He's putting up a double-double practically every night now, and next year I'd expect him to average double-digit rebounds. What an incredible move the Rockets made picking Scola up from San Antonio. And to have Landry in a backup role? What a luxury.
Scola is not undersized at all. He just doesn't have leaping ability, but his athleticism, and smarts more than make up for it, and he has FANTASTIC hands.....the ball just sticks to his mits. DD
yeah, i'm not sure when people started thinking 6'8-6'9 was undersized for a PF. Hell Hakeem was only 6'10 and he was a center.
I love his fast spin move, and "dream shake" like fakes. Scola is my favorite player, followed by Wafer and Landry.
This dude Scola is without a doubt the MVP and rock solid foundation of our team so far this year. He is a double-double machine, comes out and plays his heart out every night, and has unbelievably sneaky post up moves. He hasn't been hurt once (I think he is the only player on our team that hasn't missed time due to injury)...dude is just a man's man. A bad ass. Even sweeter because we yoinked him from the Spurs. I love Louis.
From what I saw of him in the Euroligue and argetine national team, I was a little disapointed last year. This year, after getting used to the NBA game. he is getting to the level he had when playing overseas. If he was more of a scoring option with the rockets he could be averaging 18pts 10 reb... all-star numbers
