Last week, Ron Artest got his second player of the week. Week 1: Yao Ming Week 2: Aaron Brooks Week 3: Aaron Brooks Week 4: Yao Ming Week 5: Carl Landry Week 6: Yao Ming Week 7: Yao Ming Week 8: T-Mac Week 9: Artest Week 10: Von Wafer Week 11: Von Wafer Week 12: Yao Ming Week 13: Luis Scola Week 14: Luis Scola Week 15: Yao Ming Week 16: Yao Ming Week 17: Luis Scola Week 18: Ron Artest Week 19: ---------- Games Played last week: Record: 3-1 VS TOR: http://www.nba.com/games/20090303/TORHOU/boxscore.html @ UTA: http://www.nba.com/games/20090304/HOUUTA/boxscore.html VS: PHO: http://www.nba.com/games/20090306/PHXHOU/boxscore.html VS MEM: http://www.nba.com/games/20090308/MEMHOU/boxscore.html My Pick: It was again very close between Yao, Artest and Scola, but I have to pick Yao this week for the excellent defense that he played. It was his best defensive week of the year. He shut the paint and also did well with the rebounds.
Yao Minus the Jazz game. I'll give honorable mention to Kyle Lowry though. But Yao destroyed this week except for the Jazz game clearly. He took Shaq out pretty well, although scoring wise he struggled. He bounced back with a great game against the Grizzlies tonight. Yao is my pick.
Its scola but I voted Lowry because of his effort and impact on the court. Scola does the same but Kyle has really stepped up his game for us.
If you guys are going to talk about Consistency then clearly Lowry deserves it, If you guys are going to talk about tearing up the stat sheet Yao Ming deserves it. Since Yao has more consistency and stats then Lowry, I got Yao.
Yao gets my vote for leading us to a 4-1 record on the week. Plus, regardless of the outcome of the Jazz game he battled, took everything they had and (along with Lowry) battled back to put us in a position to potentially take the lead with under three minutes left before the two bogus flops caught up fouled him out. He gets bonus points for finally stepping up for himself too!
