I want to upgrade the RAM on my macbook pro. Currently it has 1gb of RAM which just isn't enough anymore and I want to push it up to 2 gigs.

Whats a good place to buy some RAM? The Apple store price is absolutely absurd when I know RAM only costs a fraction of that.

Well what kind of RAM is it?

The problem with Macs is they often use proprietary stuff--not better stuff--just proprietary stuff, so you HAVE to buy from them rather than doing it yourself. I wouldn't be shocked if the Apple Store was your only option.

Kinda like MS charging an arm & a leg for a 360 hard drive upgrade. Since no other drives are compatible, they're free to charge three times what the hard drives are actually worth...

    Dude, that's a myth.

    This is the correct answer.

Just make sure you buy the correct kind. Can't be much fun to purchase some incompatible ram.

If you're unsure what type of ram you need, you can go to Crucial and find out. Don't have to buy there, but you'll figure out the type.

Saado beat you both to it. Tinman was probably too busy looking for 1979 footage of Allen Leavell's free throw shooting motion - what's your excuse?!
