It might be me, but until this month, Landry didn't appear as explosive as he was before his knee injury last year. I didn't see much elevation or the explosive dunks we have seen in the last 2-3 games.

Hopefully, he'll stay fresh for the playoff run.

For his well being, I hope he is saving his very best for the playoffs b/c Landry can be the perfect X factor for the Rockets to finally win a darn playoff series for the first time since 1997.

I think he was hurt'n a little from the off season knee thing and after he missed those 5 games recently with the sprained ankle I agree he wasn't as explosive, but that was kind of expected. But the last 3 games or so it seems he's back. I love Landry's game. He has expanded the range on his shot this year and his defense is better too.

I don't know. He got pretty high the other day for a block (missed, and they scored when he got out of position) and you can't get that high without having some explosion in your legs.

I think he's just playing it safe, safer...hehe, hell, he's got the JOB! :D

I didn't really notice that. I expect Landry to be somewhat injury-prone through out his career though.

He'll get that explosion back in time for the playoffs, if he has indeed lost some of it lately.

I'm not sure where this thread comes from. I couldn't watch the last few games, but have been listening. It sounded like Carl was putting in some nice dunks. He's also put up some good scoring lately. Am I missing something?

maybe the injury actually has some effection on him. But I prefer to believe that landry chooses to play in a safer way. last year he was a rookie and he needed those explosive performance to impress the coach. Now he've got a contract and enough time every game to show his ability. his jump shoot is good this season. As long as he can bring efficiency to the team, i don't mind whether he uses a dunk or a jump shot to finish the offense. Although his dunk is really awesome. :D

Actually I thought he was more explosive his first game back from the ankle. I started thinking after a couple of games that he was finally back like before the knee last year.

Landry is far less effective when teams pay attention to him.....Utah has Milsap who played him, and never let him get open.

Landry right now is a garbage player, someone without a go-to move, but who gets by on the attention gathered by others.

Drexler keeps saying every game now Landry could start for every other team in the league, but I dont agree with that literally. I think he's good as an energy player off the bench. Landry is improving his offensive moves though. He's showing more footwork and body control around the rim. And he's confident in his outside shot now. I actually could see him extending out to 3 point range if he REALLY practiced at it.

I didnt think Landry lost much of much anything. Its not like Landry is laying the ball in when he's close the the rim. He's been easily flushing it down with 2 hands when he's close.

His rebounding is way worse than last season.

Since the 04/05 season, amongst players who've played at least 1000 minutes, only Yao, Tracy, and Ron have scored more per minute. And, he's been easily the most efficient scorer over that span.

Carl's face up game in the mid post is quite solid, in my view. He may not have a lot of varied moves and fancy foot work, but his jumper is solid when he faces up and he can drive past guys and score in the paint. He's been more than simply a garbage player this year.

While Carl is probably my favorite guy on the team, Clyde, as usual, is completely clueless. I can't think of more than a handful of teams that Landry would start on.
