I bet that Rockets will miss Rafer's offense in playoff. :D

Now Rockets become a combination of RA's sacremento Queens and Nelie's headless Warriors.

The once most dominate player in low post offense, Yao becomes a high post passing center (brade miller) + defense anchor. Last game he didn't even touch the ball in the crutch time.

AB, Wafer and probably sometimes Ron are trigger happy with lots of TOs leading to easy baskets for opposites. They ballhog, shot fast and don't care about TO, exactly like Nelie's warrior game.

The Rockets used to have contenders's talents before they trade Rafer even if Tmac is out due to injuries. They had legitimate chance to win it all. But now they may pass the 1st round, they can beat pretenders. But the chance to beat the mature teams or the true contenders like spurs and Jazz is almost gone.

Can AB shoots over 50% + 30 points every nights in playoff? I bet Rockets will miss Rafer's offense in playoff. :D

Ya, we'll sure miss him bricking 70% of his shots and floaters, while being left completely wide open from the arc.

You complain about this, but where did we ever go with Yao as the focal point before? What happened last night? We won, right?

Yao gets gassed in the 4th and is officiated so badly that his mid-range flips just aren't going to fall. Yao is not THE option in the 4th - he has to have a team around him that can score. Hence, we have Wafer, Artest, Brooks, Lowry, etc.... Don't fear it, embrace it. There IS basketball outside of Yao Ming... it'll be okay....

I mean other than Yao becomes Brad Miller and AB becomes a starter version of bobby Jackson, there's nothing else Rockets similar to Queens 'the moving offense'.

    or the sweet Lowry reverse...

    p.s
great sequence when AB was almost forced out of bounds by Shaq, an amazing pass back in to Yao followed by a turnaround hook shot, offensive rebound and trip to the line...

Odd, I don't recall other teams needing their PGs to shoot over 50% and score 30+ points to win in the playoffs? Wonderful argument .... In fact, for the games that the Rockets have won recently in the playoffs, I don't seem to recall the PG shooting over 50% and score 30+ points in each of these wins. Somehow, I don't think these two are correlated.

Rafer Alston is a pretty good player, but Lowry is clearly an upgrade over him.

To be fair, Half of the time I couldn't tell whether Rafer was an actual pass-first PG as people claimed he was, or whether he was a score first PG like Aaron Brooks.

First of all, I wouldn't mind the RA's Kings or Nelie's Warriors. Both of them went past the 1st round, with Nelie's beating the Mavs.

Yao Ming a high post center? Have you seriously watched the last game? He made those passes from down low. He was posting, but passed to the cutter. That isn't high post offense. And you say, that he never touched the ball at all during the crunch time. WRONG. He did touch the ball, which led to at least 2 free throws (which I remember that he missed the 1st one), and some passes. That is at least more touches than 0, like you stated.

Trigger happy? You know who is very trigger happy? Rafer. He's always open, so he always shoots. Results? Brick after brick.

Contender status with Rafer? HAHA. Wonderful.

Does he compare to the other contender status?

    Tony Parker? No.
    Chris Paul? No.
    Deron Williams? No.
    Jameer Nelson? No.
    Mo Williams? No.

And what else? Rafer is older than all of them. Great.

I love how you say we had contender status with Rafer. Heck, even with Tracy and Rafer we were pretenders. Just look at our past playoffs.

Please think before you start a thread.

Rafer sux. go watch some old games.

    Rox win & Yao with 15p 13r > Rox lose & Yao with 40p 11r

Yao is my favorite NBA player - but I want to win at any cost. IF benching yao would wins certain matchups then we bench Yao. I was a rox fan long before yao played for the rox and I will be a rox fan a long time after yao retires.
