Shaq and Yao have a great amount of respect for each other. Should be fun to watch them play tonight.
shaq is all about respect. he's a bit touchy, but since yao has always shown him respect he returns the favor. interesting that he says yao is the best center in the NBA now, i never thought i'd hear that out of shaq's motuh. but i can't help feeling that he's doing it to dig at dwight a bit as well. look forward to the warriors battling it out tonight. i hope shaq tells his teammates to not double-team!
Shaq had a very unique perspective, that the NBA will protect the other 500 guys over 1 or 2 guys. Basically saying that they will put up with Yao and Shaq getting treated unfairly because it protects the other 500 or so NBA players. Interesting...not fair...but interesting. DD
Definitely a dig at Dwight and Stan Van Gundy by calling Yao the best center in the league, but I'll take it. Shaq and Yao have never had problems with each other, ever since Yao came into the league, and Shaq busted out with the "ching, chong, chang" talk. Remember, earlier this week, Yao said "I know I won't have to worry about Shaq....he's not a flopper" so I think this was Shaq's way of returning the favor. I have a feeling that was Yao's way of telling Shaq he's in his corner with all this SVG nonsense.
this is the same thing Yao said about Shaq when they were about to meet for the first time then Yao dominated Shaq. I hope Shaq is not playing psyc for tonight's game.
Wow, the more one learns, the more one realizes that basketball is not a sport anymore, but just a money making athletic event...like wrestling.
Geez... sometimes I get that feeling as well... and it makes me real sad, seeing how my two favorite "sports" to watch are basketball and wrestling.
Shaq hit it dead-on. 500 players that can't stop 2 players, which group is going to get the benefit? It's hard to fault the NBA for doing it but at the same time it truly isn't fair.
