Financially it would make more sense for the Rockets to get rid of Adelman rather than Yao if it came down to making a choice there. Winning wise, it isn't nearly as clear cut as some of you make it out to be. Yao really isn't a super star, except popularity wise. True super stars can't be completely removed from the offense for quarters at a time simply by fronting them, nor are they looking for their first play off series win still. Yao is certainly a top tier all star, but I personally reserve the "super star" tag for league MVP candidates, which Yao has never really been considered so far.

With that in mind, if the Rockets traded Yao for a league MVP level player and kept Adelman that very well could be the best thing the Rockets could do, if the main focus was winning and not marketing dollars. But doing that wouldn't be because they valued Adelman more than Yao, but rather because they felt the player they were getting in exchange for Yao would give them a better chance of winning.

    Second that!

It's always something like 'I dont have the role players like blah..blah...' and never blame themselves for the fall. That's just BS.

Action speaks louder than words and we are the witness!

What Adelman wants to trade Yao because he doesn't fit into his system?
Trade Adelman to ESPN for JVG instead.

No, Chris Mannix wants to trade Yao because he supposedly doesn't fit into Adelman's system.

If they knew they can't resign Lebron, how can they be sure they can resign Yao?

If Yao is such a cash cow, why would Les be afraid of the luxary tax? Why couldn't he use some of the money Yao brings in to sign more good players? So you have a cash cow plus a winning team. Just doulbe the pleasure.
Seriously, does anyone know which NBA team makes the most money? Are those numbers available?

The reason they hired Rick is also a business decision. Fans like up-tempo games much more than the slow, grinding-out JVG style.

It's nice to see that there are still writers out there who have absolutely no problem making stories up where there certainly are none.

    A great joke.

Sometimes someone said Yao not fit to Adalm's system,

i dont think so. In fact, Yao can upgrade Adalm's system knowledge if Adalm can use Yao corectly.

U can say Yao always move slow far away from paint, but he hv perfect talent to assitant and pass ball to teammates, and he has powful offense ability.

I think, Yao can upgrade Adalm's system several years later.

I think GMs around the league may thought that since Yao has rejected two extension offers that there may be a chance the rockets would open an ear.

If Yao isn't coming back after 2010, then why keep him and lose all the values? That's what logic said for those GMs. At least they can generate these types of rumors and perhaps hope that it would stir up some issue.

Of course, us Rockets fan knows and Morey knows that Yao isn't going anywhere. We would do anything, I mean anything to keep Yao happy and in Houston.

Yao has the range to shoot from the outside or at least a bit out of the painted area. we know he does, but JVG kind of caged that and now Adelman is doing the same. I doubt adelman system won't work with Yao in the middle. matter of fact, i think by design that Yao has been caged there.

interesting point, can you name the super stars you want by trading yao?

let's say we get wade or bosh, is it EASIER to build a champion team around them? On the other hand, I THINK you replace Bosh or Wade with Yao, those two teams become better. I am not saying Yao is a better player, but it's much easier to find other pieces around a true low post player than the other way around.

Since I'm not enamored with LeBron or Kobie
there is NO ONE in the league I would trade YAO for
In fact. . . I dunno if there is any two
I MIGHT take Wade AND Bosh for him . .. I might consider it
not saying I would pull the trigger

Les is the most successful businessman, but that doesn't mean he is the richest though
