i used to own a cowon d2, they come in 2,4,8 and i believe 16 gig version as well, you can get a low capacity one, and still boost the memory since they have a SD expansion slot. 2.5 inch touchscreen, plays videos, built in FM as well as recorder, drag n drop music, and it supports a ton of formats such as FLAC, OGG ect..

The others have mentioned the iPod Touch, and that's a good option as well, but it has no FM if you want that. It's also a bit more expensive, but if you can find use for any of the apps you can download onto it, it's pretty nice.

Also be careful about having FM being a deciding factor because I've been in buildings where my location in the building allowed for lame FM reception while in other buildings, the reception was pretty good.

ipod touch is a compelling option, though if i'm going down that route, i think i would just get the iphone.

can the 3G be unlocked for t-mobile? and what would the process for that entail?

Ive had my Zune for overs 2yrs now and its been nothing but solid with a few scratches. I use it everyday. I've also owned a couple nano's in the past which are pretty sweet, and I actually prefer the software available for iPods. But I've seen too many of them break, my Zune just seems more durable-- which I wouldn't normally say for a spinning hard drive device vs. hard memory.

Though if you're into Asian music at all, know that all Asian fonts are not supported, and judging by the responses from Microsoft, never will be

My 2 1/2 year old Archos Jukebox just died. Now I'm using my phone (LG Voyager) and my gps. (garmin 260). Everything plays mp3s these days if you stick an SD card or Micro SD card in it. Not sure if i'm going to by anything else as a dedicated mp3 player.

Luv My Zune 120 GB, cost me 250 at best buy, I have like 6000 songs on it and still have 85 GB left. battery life is alright(5-6 Hrs), but as long as u roll with a charger you cant go wrong with it.

P.S. Got it organized to a tee

Album Covers for everything and nothing but 192-320Mp3 on ish.

My wife got it the other day. We call it the Jesus phone. It's pretty impressive. I would like to see if the Palm Pre is as awesome as it seems before I drop a lot of money on a PDA.
