It's for the good of the game that Yao is not officiated fairly

That is true Yao can become nearly unstoppable that's why Stern and refs hate on him. Dust your shoulders off Yao!!!

He has let this slide for too many years now. If us the fans especially the Chinese population from over seas would of start complaining he would be getting more justice.

The only thing i would agre is that Yao himself gave a press conference saying how he feels he is being officiated, without calling any ref out, and encouraging his fans to stop watching his games untill he is being refs the right way.

If Yao were officiated with any respect at all, he'd be on the free throw line a lot. And he makes his free throws. And he'd possibly then lead the league in scoring.

There is no way the league will allow a non-American player to lead the NBA in scoring.

I think it is no real secret that Stern has been looking to recreate the 90s and more specifically for another Micheal Jordan since Jordan's retirement.

As for the officials, they are idiots. They fall for some of the stupidest stuff when it involves big especially Yao's size because they think he is always at fault because of his size and they think big men can't help but to knock little guys down. It sucks mainly for Yao because their aren't many that can compare to Yao in size. Add in the natural NBA officiating issues such as favoring the home team and the revenge ("My bad for that last call which was wrong, so here is one on your side") calls, it just sucks.

I thought this was supposed to be the best league in the world? Every basketball player dreams of being in this league...even if most of them are bench warmers. It's different to be associated with the NBA. It's being in the league where the best of the best are. But if what is being said is true (the discrimination of Yao) then this league is just like any other.

Nevertheless, the refs should be impartial and do what should be done. Call a foul when there is a foul. Do what should be done  :)

2 political incorrect reason why Yao cant drop 50pts a game

    1. It is human natual to be racist, American cultrue does encourage it, asian population is too small to fight for it.

    2. Capitalism's best interest is profit, big man are not going attract as many as audience as guards/wing, not to mention Yao's "clumsy" image.

Dont get me wrong, American got one of most admirable social system on the planet, and Capitalism is less evil than any other counterpart.

In fairness, I've seen some of the replays on the defensive end - and sometimes Yao complains about a call that he shouldn't be. Like once he had his arms up but he was sliding to the right and hit a driving Mehmet Okur. That's a legitimate foul on Yao. You can't be moving into the guy if you want to not get the foul. Yao made a big fuss about it.

But I will say this. I have been saying for years the reason Yao doesn't get calls is because he is not aggressive enough and the refs don't respect him.

I now just say the refs don't respect him. It's ridiculous. Not every call is a bad call, but there are A LOT of bad calls. Yao can't win. THe only way he doesn't get called for charges is to play like Shawn Bradley. That's not fair. It's stupid. It's taking the game away from Yao.

I think we understand Shaq's frustration. I hope they let Yao dominate. It may not be what the average viewer on the street wants to see. Maybe they rather see Kobe dominate. But the integrity of the game calls for fairness, and I hope Yao and the Rockets do everything to make it clear that the integrity of the game is suspect.

Your number 1 is just stupid. It has nothing to do with race. As a point of proof, Shaq made many of the same complaints in his career.

Black and Asian people are the same to white people, INFERIOR!!

We latin americans for example are just "below average" for white people.

And then, continuing with the withe people´s view, TV stars are Superior.

(just a joke if you didn´t realise)

Its actually really stupid from the NBA's point of view. On one side they say they want to have more international recognition and on the other they just **** block there best occasion to do that!
The could have the whole asian countries interested in them!

#1 doesn't make sense. Asian population too small? Hell, almost 50% of the world's population resides in Asia. And if you recently checked which countries are the most economically viable: 3 of the top 5 countries are in Asia - Japan (2), China (3), India (4). The US and Europe are 1 and 5.

So I don't know how #1 makes any sense. It's almost a given by economists that by the middle to latter part of this century, that China AND India are going to pass the US as the most prosperous nation in the world. Think about it - China's economy is currently considered "stagnant" and it's GDP is still increasing by 7% a year.

You know how many of the old, white men that are the "powers that be" of the NBA will be pissed off to see a Chinese man dominate the game. They won't allow it. These are the same old, white men that are causing the problems of the lack of minority coaches in the NCAA. As much as we'd like to believe that the world is globalized now and racism is nonexistant, it's not. It won't be until those old, white men at the top controlling everything die.

Yao just needs to voice his opinion.

Who cares about $15,000 fines if you are making $80million dollars?

If I were Yao I would be holding interviews with Stephan A. Jackson, and when the NBA ask for their money Yao should promptly tell them to stick the money up their ass, after forking it over.

Stern just needs to retire, the NBA needs a Roger Goodell. ASAP!

wow. i hope this is a joke.

these old white men don't want a chinese man to dominate but they DO want a bunch of black men to make up 95% of the league and have their most marketable stars be black men?

Yao should wear some elbow pads for emphasis.

And right before tip off, point to his elbows and then point to the opposing center.
