IT seemed touch-and-go for a while, but Larry David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," is set to return to production in LA next week, officials said yesterday. The offbeat HBO comedy, which follows the "Seinfeld" creator through improvised scenes that blur real life with fictional characters, ended its last season in November 2007 with the show's future, as usual, up in the air.

HBO had originally announced last October that production would resume again in December for an early 2009 premiere.

Now, after some delays, the network says David will be returning in September.

"Curb Your Enthusiasm" debuted in 1999 as a one-hour comedy special that evolved into a longer series.

Its return for a seventh season marks "Curb Your Enthusiasm" as HBO's longest-running series ever, outlasting "

Watching season 6 now. The first episode, where he decides to show up the next day to pretend like he didn't know what day the party was on is one of the best in the series, IMO.

If I pee twenty times a day, I can get through a whole New York Times for God sake!

Exclusive: 'Seinfeld' cast to appear on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' :D

The Seinfeld cast is making another must-see appearance. EW has learned exclusively that the four stars of NBC's long-running comedy -- Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander, and Michael Richards -- will be featured in a multiple-episode story arc on HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm this fall. The cameos will mark the first time that all four actors have appeared together in a scripted TV show since Seinfeld went off the air nearly 11 years ago. No date has been set for this event, or for Curb's seventh season, which will run for 10 weeks. Curb, of course, was created by and stars Larry David, the cocreator of Seinfeld.

The episodes, which are currently shooting in Los Angeles, appear to represent a continuation of David's relationship with the Seinfeld stars. As Curb fans know, Seinfeld, Louis-Dreyfus, and Alexander have made individual appearances on the award-winning series over the years.
