Sad that they would back a man who WANTS the country to suffer further in order to gain politically, rather than hope for the best for the country. Worse yet, they will use whatever power they have left to encourage it to fail... not even leaving it to it's own merit, all at our expense, so he can gain more listeners and sell more books and maybe just maybe in the next election they won't get their arse handed to them from coast to coast for the bad reputation they've developed. It's backfiring. It already has, and instead of trying to review their stances on their core values that made them a strong party in the past, they're digging in deeper with division. What's more is, obama and his team see it, and they just gave them another shovel and are watching them dig. Incredible.
when middle class conservative whites in the midwest started loosing jobs, the old culture war strategy is doomed. these people don't have time for b.s., they want gov't to succeed.
Design your own apology to Rush using the Secret Republican Apology Machine, courtesy of the DCCC... http://www.dccc.org/content/sorry
It'd be a historic watershed moment for the first black GOP leader to be replaced by the first transgender GOP leader.
This would be funny on a normal person's site, but putting it on the front of the DCCC webpage seems petty and unnecessary to me. I'm not a fan of this kind of politics. I'm also not a fan of Robert Gibbs using the white house briefing room for silly political games.
Rush, Our Leader Republicans who've dared to criticize Rush only to beg for his forgiveness: Hilarious new website I'm sorry Rush Limbough website. Check it out. Congressman Phil Gingrey (R-GA): "I mean, it’s easy if you’re Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh or even sometimes Newt Gingrich to stand back and throw bricks. You don't have to try to do what's best for your people and your party. " I'm Sorry, Rush “I clearly ended up putting my foot in my mouth on some of those comments and I just wanted to tell you, Rush, [...] that I regret those stupid comments.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Governor Mark Sanford (R-SC): "Anybody who wants [President Obama] to fail is an idiot, because it means we're all in trouble..." I'm Sorry, Rush Sanford’s Communications Director, said that "the governor was not referring to anyone" in particular. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- RNC Chairman Michael Steele: Rush is not the head of the Republican Party. He's an "entertainer" whose show is "incendiary" and "ugly." I'm Sorry, Rush "My intent was not to go after Rush - I have enormous respect for Rush Limbaugh..." "I was maybe a little bit inarticulate... There was no attempt on my part to diminish his voice or his leadership." "I went back at that tape and I realized words that I said weren’t what I was thinking..."
Libertarianism is largely attractive to only the wealthy or at least the young and healthy who have illusions of becoming wealthy. They are pretty much indistinguishable from conservatives with respect to economics. And it is these anti-regulation, anti-government economic policies that got us into the current mess. It is interesting to see one of Ayn Rand's disciples, Alan Greenspan, starting to realize the errors in the ideology.
As a conservative that does not consider myself a republican, I cannot even listen to Rush. I used to agree with his viewpoints like 15 years ago, now everything is about him and what he said, and what he told us, and basically just him. He is a self promoting blowhard and I think no elected official should have to respond to him. It saddens me that the he is the loudest conservative voice and what most people associate with when they think of conservatives or republicans. I personally perfer Hannity and specifically on the local scene, Michael Berry. I tend to agree with Berry's viewpoint on most issues and don't have to listen to him tell us how great he is.
