Dumbest Eco-Nihlist argument

  1. Additional government spending will not stimulate the economy because it's spending.

    See, again, the problem is that nobody ever made these arguments.

    I knew that, those were editorial comments.

    Just dumb comments like so many other dumb comments... dumb is going around (esp. in Washington and on the Cable News Channels)

    Well, government spending and taxes to fund this spending can get us out of debt if the spending is wise. Things are complicated and fundi-economics and the idea that all government spending is bad simplicity doesn't cut it.

    For example if you personally are in debt, borrowing and spending to go to nursing school might be just what you need to get out of debt. Just cutting back on eating out might not help much at all.

    Taxes don't fund spending, selling debt instruments fund spending.
    Government spending is debt.

    It isn't as complicated on the macro level.

    If you were in 12 trillion $$$ debt and you borrowed to go to nursing school you would be thinking like a politician. :)
