That JaMario Moon dunk may be the most overblown thing I ever seen ore mentioned over and over again.

But on the topic, we need Ron to step up and fill some of that role that T-mac had when it was him and Yao. We need Ron to play to his strength and that is posting up. But for some reason Ron loves off balance jumpshots and dribbling a lot. It's fine when he's making those shots but he is living and dying by the jumper.

It's true over the past few years, McGrady has been "that guy" that would silence the arena, or make them go oooohh and ahhh. He also said he loves playing on the road. Rockets really don't have that now.

    Unfortunately, I am't...

Hes just a guy who never stopped abusing his teammates with words, like

    limited ability, etc...

get to admit that, he used to take over games like a "Superstar", but we

all know that, hes done. When he was on the court with his BED health/ hurt

leg, he couldnt jump. The situation always like, he held the ball for >15s,

then pass or shoot. And the fact is, the rox are better without him, Sadly... :(

i think either artest or scola can be "that guy" TOGETHER as a combo. they're both tough and they both don't care where they play. they just play. they tried tonight and you gotta be proud of their effort.

    but to durvasa's point:

this was tracy's road stats last yr:
    25.1ppg, 5rpg. 5.5apg

    in 06-07
    26.3ppg, 5.3rpg, 6.3apg

    04-05
    27.6ppg, 6rpg, 5.4apg

all of those were better than his home stats. like i said, artest and scola can be that combo that we can go to on the road. yao is a better home player.

Mcgrady is dogged on this board relentlessly because he was injured and playing on one leg. The truth is, he's one of the greatest players to ever wear a rockets jersey, and he will forever be remembered as a scrub because of his injuries.

I remember the mcgrady youre talking about. I remember having a chance to win every single game, because at any moment he could get hot and score 20 points in a quarter. Double teams? So what, i can just jump over them and find the open man. Mcgrady was a master of the game before injuries derailed him. I'm as big of a rockets fan as there is, and i don't understand how anyone who isnt a fan could be happy that he's done in houston. I dont get it. If he literally said, fck houston i quit, yeh i might understand the hatred. But the guy is injured. How can you fault him for that. He tried to play through it but he clearly wasnt helping the team so he decides to do surgery. Why does that suddenly make him hated on this board?

Yeh theyre better without a one-legged Mcgrady. With a healthy mcgrady they would be in the conversation for a championship. Right now, we just look average quite honestly. We can't win outside our own building. we collapse in the 4th quarter.

some of the hate is warranted. tracy really mishandled the entire situation and really should have just piped down and let management handled it.

    the rest is ridiculous though.

Keep preaching dude you are exactly right. Any Rockets fan who has been watching for the past 3-4 years knows what McGrady brought to the table. He has the superstar quality, where you just raise up and drain the shot no matter who is on you. Where you go on that spurt making 4 or 5 shots in a row the basket getting bigger and bigger, that certain "swagger". You guys know what I'm talking about. Its sucks that he is injured this year, but deep down inside everyone knows they want McGrady back fully healthy next season.

You lose. Tmac play way better at home this season. You never know what he will do next year.

That part wasnt suprising though. When has he ever handled criticism well? He is sensitive as hell. We've been knowing this. When he is healthy and playing lights out, that never really mattered to me.

I'm not talking about Tracy this season or a next season. I'm talking about the player who was considered a very good road player in past seasons. Is not having that guy the reason for our poor road record, or is there another explanation?

I think McGrady is in the same situation as Kobe was few years back, where all the I want to be traded or i don't like this and that. After getting this surgery (which wasn't too severe, he will be back), IMO McGrady will have his head straight not worrying about his leg and whatnot because clearly he wasn't right from beginning of training camp.

tmac just played extremely subpar the whole year, everywhere.

and yes, we don't know what will happen to tracy. if he comes back, the best he can be is regain last year's form. the worst? this year's form but with no pain so play more games.

but he hasn't played like that to warrant those talks. in the past, he got away with it b/c he performed at a high level. this year, he didn't.

You shouldnt try to speak for everyone on this site. Most of the people before you and after are proof that what you said is false....

a HUGE part of basketball is swagger and confidence. Alot of that has to do with ability. Tracy had that unique talent that you dont find anywhere. When he was right, he was unstoppable.

People drooling over Wafer and saying hes better than tmac need a history lesson. You don't simply replace a tracy mcgrady. Its not going to happen. It was a huge loss for the team. Frustrating, but i dont think anyone is as frustrated as mcgrady himself. Dude has been a dang good player for this franchise, but he will only be remembered for his shortcomings this season.
