Everytime I get a massage, I feel like I am alot weaker when I work out the next day or so.

Is it bad for those who are looking to gain strength? or is there is a specific time to get massages that is better? (ex. after a work out?)

    thanks

I never feel weaker the next day if I go and get a massage. I do feel light-headed sometimes right after but never weaker the next day. Have you just started to workout?

Are you working out too often and too hard? Perhaps you need some more rest days in between.

Massage is good for you: works kinks out of tight muscles, let's you get rid of toxins, lowers your blood pressure, etc. Are you drinking enough water afterwards? That helps to flush the toxins out.

Are you usually really tense? Maybe you feel tired because you're finally relaxed or something. Or maybe you're doing too much at the gym without sufficient recovery time?

Its good for you, but you need to take it easy after ward.
It releases a lot of toxins, and my guess is that your body is expending energy to expel them for good.
Things you can do to help that process...
Soak in a hot bath with epsom salts. Drink only water and lots of it. Eat right and light if you must eat. Get plenty of sleep that night.

    thanks guys

i actually work out alot and use to have a personal trainer (so in relatively good shape).

why i ask is that i hear that overstretching sometimes makes you weaker at least prior to working out. as most say to stretch after you work out instead of before.

so just wanted to check what your thoughts were...

It's only bad for you if a man does it.
