What gauge strings do you use? Bass players can answer too, Jeff, but their answers will be meaningless to me. :) I know you have a guitar too, though.

For my acoustic I like whatever I can afford with a .010 bottom E

For my electric it's those SLINKY strings... who makes those? Ernie Ball? The blue or pink package with a .090 bottom E.

I usually buy strings at Rockin Robin, they usually do like 2 sets for 10 bucks or $6 each... now that was a long time ago, I haven't bought strings in so long, it's pathetic... my acoustic strings are nasty... hmmm, maybe this weekend!

I am currently playing string sets with .009 on the high E but I received a recommendation from someone here to try thicker strings so my next strings I will go to a higher gauge in the hopes that it will improve my tone and tuning issues.

I dunno...guitar is kind of pissing me off right now. My bro bought me a wireless system from Shure for my birthday last year but it's a doggone piece of shiyat. It uses Radio Frequency so there is a ton of interference. Then, my damn dog goes and chews up the end of the adapter cord which plugs into the wireless transmitter. Luckily, the power was off to that outlet via a switch or my dog would be toast right now. RF on a wireless guitar system is the worst idea...should have never been done. UHF supposedly works a whole lot better and only some TV channels can interfere with it supposedly. Not to mention...I don't think wireless systems go well with my effects floor unit.

I'm just sick of my whole set up. My guitar has too many dings and I'm sick of it. My amp...I'm sick of it. I'm sick of my stupid Ovation big body acoustic/electric. I want all new equipment but I'm not a serious player so I'm kind of in limbo land. I love to play for a hobby and can play pretty good....but I'm not sure that warrants getting rid of all my equipment and starting over. What I would really like is a classic guitar like a Gibson or Fender, a PA system with mixer as my effects unit works extremely well with PAs, and a new acoustic/electric guitar(one that does not suck with good action). Damned if I want to spend all the money, though.

Guitar strings are the least of my worries :( . I need to spend some big dough and dump my current equipment.

I use 11s on my Strat, 10s on my Les Paul and 45-105 on my basses. For guitar I like Ernie Ball Slinkies and on bass I like DR. But I'm not terribly picky, although I do avoid the really cheap sets.

GHS Boomers Light gauge. .10's is as light as I will go. Anything lighter and you lose tone. Different styles use different Gauges. For Blues (lots of bending) I use Light Gauge strings. I play a Fender Strat.

.11's on my Strat and my DeArmond LP Copy....and I'm prolly gonna get the neck moded on my Tele to fit .12's on it. I just love the sound of thick strings.)
