I was looking at Carl's stats and I noticed he made one 3 pointer, when was this? Was it a buzzer beater from half court? Or a legit spot up 3 pt shot?

If Carl Landry adds a three-pointer to his repetoire, he would be our new Robert Horry.

I think aside from the defense, the biggest flaw in his game is the lack of a post game.

He can only be effective from midrange or very near the basket, but cannot be used back to the basket.

I also think Carl is good for stretches, would love to see him for 30 mins being the go to guy to see how he plays.

I think right now Carl is taking good advantage by the fact that defenses have yet to focus on him as an offensive threat.

I love the way landry plays espescially on offense, he gives it his all and he's not affraid to mix it up with the bigs plus I think he has good range that will get even better with time. I hope he's taking pointers from hayes on D because, I dont think he will ever be a "shot blocker"

I think after the next couple years though we will see a major decline because of his size, there are not to many 6 7 PF in this leauge who play at high level, Once his athletisism starts to dwindle he will be another Juwan Howard past his prime

You have brought up some good points but in order for him to be the go to guy,he will need to develop a post up game. Good defensive teams can take away his ability to drive and dunk.

Definitely needs to continue to improve his shooting outside of 4ft. I think he has a ton of room to improve, but I'm already very impressed.

It was legit, it was in garbage time, i think maybe a month ago? I think he tried two that game, back to back in the final seconds, made the first and rimmed out the second...he's got good form, but i think he needs to be set and have time, i dont think he'd make many if he got rushed.

I think David West is what you don't want him to be. Sure he's an all-star, but from watching him in a good number of hornets games (because of CP3) he settles too much for jumpers and doesn't attack the basket as much as he did in years past. He's still a good rebounder, though. I think Carl will be better than that. If he can learn good post moves, he'll be unstoppable.

Also, if West didn't dribble or fake a drive before a jumpshot from a Paul pass, Chris Paul would be averaging 15 apg. West is an assist killer.

He's shown a few post moves before. I think I've seen him try a few hook shots, but they looked too green. I don't know, I'm not a guru, but it looked like he was trying out a new move and it kinda sucked because he hadn't tried it enough in games, rather than a move that he would never get.

I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back next season with a hook shot and a 3 point shot. If so, look out league.

Landry's ceiling is as high as his knees (knee high? :D ) Seriously, he will have a solid NBA career as long as no one bumps his knees. One serious knee bump could effectively end his career because, at this point, Landry's game is predicated upon superior athleticism.

i would be more concerned about the ceiling of Scola, who is already a borderling all-star and a 20/10 player (as a 1st or 2nd option). the guy seems to score almost 10 points a game just on hustle and clean up, never mind set plays. Landry's a nice bonus to have, but potential, schmotential. Scola's the bird in the hand right now and he's a free agent after next season. of course we only wish that Scola had Landry's athleticism and Hayes' defense.

considering that he already hurt his knee last year and has come back just as strong in both the playoffs last year and this season, your argument lacks any steady foundation

Carl Landry will never be a Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett but eventually he should make a helluva starter down the line.

I would love to see a more updated Carl Landry highlight youtube clip, especially showcasing his mid-range jump shots. If anyone has a link, please post.

Not without a post game or go-to move he won't.

Whenever players pay attention to him he is severly limited on offense.....and on defense, he is bad one on one, but good as a help defender.

Right now, he is about where he should be ....a quality sub.

If Carl could just work on that ball handling he could do something with his career. He has shown he can make the hook shot.

Ben Wallace is much stronger, and has longer arms.
