I didn't call them spineless, perhaps "pathetic" is a bad choice of word. But the fact that Kobe's shirt sold more than Yao's in China show you how little support the big guy gets from his own country men.

From what I could interpret, pathetic insinuated that they did not have the balls to do anything to stand up for Yao, which would be a spineless act.

And I really don't see how Kobe selling more than Yao shows a lack of support. Just because Kobe is outselling doesn't mean they don't support Yao. Kobe is more exciting, is a better player, and has shown he is more of a winner than Yao. Yao has never gotten out of the 1st round before.

The fact that even T-Mac sold more jersey than Yao should speak for itself. Anyhow Kobe hasn't proven anything yet since Shaq left L.A.

don't ever worry about Yao's popularity in China. :D there's nothing wrong about Kobe's jersey sold better. he is a greater star than Yao, he is way more spectacular, isn't he?that's the evidence against someone's claim: all chinese fans are Y-O-F. in fact, the majority of chinese fans are not.

Yeah well that shows you the short sightedness and shallow thinking of the chinese, when they praise a convicted rapist as their favorite player.

    Agree.

Big guys (even Shaq or Dream) just can't sell more shots or shirts. It a common situation.

These two things are totally irrelative.

NBATV keeps calling him Lewis Scola instead of Lou-weese.

Prior to this year, I would much, much rather have a T-Mac jersey than Yao. And unbiasedly, Kobe would be a better jersey than Yao too. Why? Because Yao is a giant. There is no one else in the world like him. It's easier to relate to those two than Yao since those two are more like guards and/or small forwards. It's the same reason why there are more Kobe jerseys than Shaq jerseys sold, even though Shaq did the main work during the Laker 3peat. How many Duncan jerseys do you see around, even though he's one of the greatest of all-time?

Fact is, most people in this world want to be Jordan/Kobe/Lebron/Wade than Shaq/Yao/Dwight/Duncan.

Oh, and Kobe went to the finals last year. And has the best record this year. I'm not even a fan, but how can one hate on that. And yea, his supporting cast is better than the Rockets, but a large part of his success has to do with his demeanor, which if Yao or T-Mac had an ounce of the Rockets would have gotten past the 1st round by now.

It is related when it comes to foreign players and sales from another country.

Kobe's also the most popular player in the world, as evidenced by the Olympics. Any other racially insensitive and derogatory comments you want to make tonight?

well, you can say the same thing about American Kobe fans. I bet there's also more Kobe fans in USA than Yao fans. so what's the difference?

looks like you are a Kobe hater. I am ok with that. looks like you can't refrain from bad-mouthing chinese, which I am not OK.

I tell you what, with out MClazy Rockets are a tough team. We know ROn is tough but Battier Landry SCola are competitive animals. Lately Yao has been playing tough too.

I dislike Kobe because of his arrogance and stupidity but he is not a convicted rapist. Not only were the charges dropped but it was determined that the girl framed Kobe for money.

What is up with you and making statements that mentally r****ded person would realize is incorrect? You're entire argument for Yao being mistreated, is to blame Chinese and insult their people. While you are sitting on your fat ass doing nothing. Even though you speak English better than they do. Have bigger balls than they do. And don't like a rapist like they do. If you REALLY cared, why are you waiting for others to take action, and dissing them when you don't even know if they are doing something or not?

    You are what you are.

sad thing is when Mr. Anti-rapist is obviously angry about the NBA refs' possible racial bias against a Chinese player, he expressed the same bias in a more blatant way.

What is up with you nitpicking my comments and going off on a tangent and what has now degenerate to personal insults. The original comment was to establish the bias calls against Yao by the refs in which may work against the Rockets should they make it to the play offs. So I propose a sort of scenario in which maybe the NBA might take notice and ref a fair game against Yao. I merely stated a simple comment and pessimistic view of the chinese and you like the Wolf that you are jump all over something that was meant to be nothing and turn it into one big drama.

This is just typical! I would expect nothing more than the type of response from you as I would be getting from a fortune cookie.
