Agree! I don't understand about China, as an American when I see someone treats our people with disdains, I will speak up for us. Why China as a super power allows Stern & his refs to treat Yao like that? All it takes is a compilations on all of the BS Yao faced the last 7 years on tapes. The ChiCom can call the meeting with Stern and show him this tape and demand this bull**** to end this minute. I'll bet you any money we will see all these damn zebras swallowing their whistles when it comes Yao!
Somebody nees to really encourage Yao to speak out about,I mean right now,The chinbese people on this forum need to lead the way, seriously.
most of fans just said its ok for yao being treated that way,as long as we won the games.but you dont when comes WCF or 2nd round, there will be big diff, thats why I said it will finally cost our game, ITS NOT JUST ABOUT YAO,ITS ABOUT ROX
I think the most effective way is: During a nation-wide televised regular game, Yao complains aggressively to officials against unfair fouls until he gets a technical foul. Then do it again to get ejected out of the court. This I'm sure would get international attention, especially those fans from China. In any case, as long as Rox is playing "team" game, Yao does that in 1-2 games would affect Rox much, but that might correct refs biased officiating on Yao in the long term. Just my opinion.
Perlmonroe, you must have forgotten that when the Native Americans spoke up they were massacred. When the blacks spoke up during the civil rights movement many of them ended up missing or hanging on trees. Millions of indigenous people around the world were killed by Westerners when they spoke up against Western colonialists. Some kind of Western justice you are talking about.
I think your last sentence is biased, just like refs. officiating on Yao. How should we deal with it?
Wrong. The NBA is in financial trouble this year. Make them make changes by not paying the league another nickel until changes in officiating are made.
The days of mob lynching and mass genocides are no longer present in the US. At least I would hope so, I thought the US are moving forward especially with a half black president in the white house. Ofcourse unless the whole thing was a charade, the kind of bias Yao has been getting from the refs should no longer be tolerated.
talking about boycott between China and USA nowadays, 2 words: in vain. I am living in China and I can't imagine how would my life look like if I boycott US products. as for the Americans, how many times they screamed "boycott china"?and what happened? so let's cut the crap and do it in a civilized way. Yao should hire an aggressive NYC lawyer. his current agent team sucks.
Nice derogatory comment there. If we're going to go that route of calling out nations, then we as Americans should boycott the NBA for its obvious biased officiating and catering to certain personalities in the NBA. We are the nation to lead the fight against everything right? We are #1 nation in the world, are we not? What's that make us? Note: This is rhetorical, I just can't stand when a person is so ridiculously naive to lump entire groups of people together like sheep.
roxwin, monroe was talking western justice. sports is part of life and it cannot be isolated from what is going on around us. Racism against Yao is part of the fabric of this society currently and historically. Remember Shaq when he mimicked Yao? Maybe you have even mimicked Chinese during the course of your lifetime. By the way, sports is part of the fabric of society, so is music, arts, language and culture. That is just the way it is.
good win. and lowry should be starting, because aaron is starting to lose his game a little scola and landry are beasts! big game tomorrow though
I forgot to add, it is ESPECIALLY in poor taste when there is a large contingent of Chinese on this website, with the same goals in mind for where this team should be headed. And to call them all spineless is just atrocious. Besides, do you really think that if everyone in China banded together b/c of Yao's treatment, that Stern would care at all? He's shown throughout his career as commish he obviously doesn't concern himself with matters that make the league look bad. And not everyone in China loves Yao and would give up the NBA for Yao. Same as not everybody in Texas is a cowboy that rides horses all day.
Saw Scola practice dunk twice at the end of halftime. And he did 180 at 2nd attempt. I knew he is going to do it sometime at second half. Be prepare to see more Scola DUNK.
