Just what they need...a guard. I don't get it. http://uhathletics.hawaii.edu/Candidate/savovic.html os
Actually, Savovic would make a great backup 2 guard if something falls through with Torres. Admittedly, however, that's not our top priority.
The Rockets will be working out a whole lot of players. A workout isn't much of an indicator of who we'll pick. The Rockets should be well educated on everyone in the draft -- and it looks like they're doing their homework.
I don't think that Savovic would be a good first round pick, let alone a top 15 pick, especially not for the Rockets. nbadraft.net has him as a second round player, wouldn't be a bad pick there, but if Juan Dixon is available in Round 2, I'd jump all over him.
I can appreciate them doing their homework...but why would they waste their and his time if there is no interest? os
Old School-I think this may be more of a 2nd round look. We still don't know all the major players in this draft, so the Rocks will wait on looking at top 15 prospects...may not really need to pull in anyone but Ming if we get the #1 overall.
Old School, You don't think it is valuable to create a Mock Draft and have a very educated opinion on who wants which players. Also, you wouldn't consider it wise to evaluate what you would do if trading Mobley became the key to the Ming Dynasty. Would you trade the #2 pick and Mobley to Chicago for the #1 pick. Leaving Chicago with Mobley and Jason Williams. ummmm...I'd be prepared to do it for sure. But the only way to prepare yourself is by evaluating Shooting Guards.
for the barbourdg's that have trouble following along sometimes, let me rephrase it: If the phone rings and Chicago offers you Ming for the #2 and Mobley, are you just going to hang up or are you going to talk and try to make something work? If you are going to talk, it's probably a good idea to know the SGs out there.
heypee-I demand Jamal Crawford, and have the ultimate average happy Rockets fan: 1.) Got Ming 2.) Traded Mobley 3.) Moved Francis to SG
I would hang up!! #2 & KT would get you Ming. Ming is not a sure thing, and it doesnt sound like Houston is on China's list of possible locations.
If Chicago picked Ming with the #1 and we had the #2, I'm sure we could trade down with a team that needs a point guard, and still get a good player/pick or both. Chicago knows that. If they want Jason, they better take him with their #1.
