Didn't they also change the rule about making the free throw shooter wait until the ball hits the rim before they can go for the rebound?

Wow Shaq's a punk and he is jealous of Howard...

What hurt Howard is he looked up to Shaq so Shaq shouldn't have done that

Expect a big game from Howard tonight when they play the suns

    Shaq has a hugeeeeeeee ego.

He is a big jokster but that doesn't change the fact that he thinks really highly of himself. I never understood the people that used to say they hate Kobe because of his ego, but they like shaq. In reality Shaq has a bigger ego then anybody in the league the only reason Shaq is not as bashed as kobe (or as much as he really should be because of his ego) is because he is a media doll...he is great with the media.

Shaq was most likely trying to be funny when he said those thigns about dwight, but that doesn't mean he doesn't really believe all the stuff he said.

    Zone defenses....

no hand checking wing players... (meaning higher chance they will beat their man, and make it into the paint, forcing the big man to defend)

no two hands on the back... but then I guess it works both ways... bad for the defender good for the offensive player...

not a rule change but the perception that the wing players get touch fouls...the bigger players get murdered

in Yao case... its all bad and bad for him....(heh)

as a big man and Shaq fan back in the day...

Shaq... he got away with alot of stuff...

you basically could have called a offensive foul on every one of his plays...

but the refs would call one every once in a while... rarely do I remember him fouling out of a game... sure he would get his 4 or 5 fouls... though

the referee response back then was Shaq was so hard to officiate...

granted he got it sometimes on the offensive end... and more times on the defensive end... but he always gave out more than he got...

the hand checking rule was the Kenny Smith/Derick Harper rule.

    http://www.theknicksblog.com/2009/02/24/sicom-iconic-knick-photos/

Although he was only here a short time, Derek Harper’s ability to lead from a defensive standpoint always made me admire him tremendously. He would have been the finals MVP in 1994 had we won, as far as I’m concerned. He’ll always be one of my favorites as well. Heck, they change the hand check rules because of him.

We enjoy most of Shaq's 'kid at heart' antics. But he also has a childish ego to go with it.

So Shaq is bragging about how the league had to change a rule to prevent teams from taking advantage of his inept free throw shooting?

a league full of non shooters and they allow zones. BTW, guess who was the guy pushing that rule? Jerry Colangelo, I wonder why? If they wanted a faster more fluid game, I had some ideas. Push the 3pt line to 26ft. That would eliminate the guys that have no business shooting them. Call illegal offense when there are 3 fuys above the 3pt line weakside for more than 5 secs. Drop the half court violation from 8 to 7 and the shot clock from 24 to 20 secs. This time drop would allow pressing, more uptempo, less play calling, more slashing and better more mid range shooting. Instead, we got a stupid zone which is the shaq rule essentially.

Can somebody post videos of Hakeem schooling Shaq?

And I don't see Hakeem going around and talking egoistic crap, the guy just smiles when you ask him about the titles he has won.

Shaq and his ego, ask him why will he not make the playoffs this year?

    Shaq always trash talks

He did it to Yao Ming and now he's doing it to Howard.
Shame on Shaq. He's getting old :D

Shaq just jealous that he's like 12 years older than Dwight. Dwight could still finish with 3-4 championships.

Dwight Howard is overrated. I agree with Shaq, all Howard can do is run and jump.

He plays in the east where dominant big men don't belong. Name a few centers in the east capable of stopping the likes of Howard or Yao. I can only think of Z from Cleveland (even though Yao ate him alive). The rest are all power forwards who are not capable of playing against real centers.

Wowww i can't believe you guys are doubting Dwight Howard

The only TWO dominant big men in the league are Howard and Yao so who exactly is dominant in the west apart from Yao??? If they are so dominant im sure they would of made the all start team...oh wait thats only Yao and Shaq and Shaq is not in his prime anymore

Yeah the Center positions nowadays it's crap quite frankly.

    Yao, Shaq, Dwight

That's about it. Then you have a bunch of would be Cs but they are really PFs...like Jefferson.

You guys forgetting about Duncan, and he's right in Yao's backyard.

Gasol, Bynum, Oden, Biedrins, in addition to Dwight, Shaq, and Yao. Brook Lopez is looking good. Bogut can do more if he had more freedom in Milwaukee.

Then you have solid centers like Chandler, Dalembert, Haywood who are good/great at what they do.

Then there's the new types of centers like Dirk, Bargnani. To me, these types are just like Sam Perkins back in the day except deadlier, and everyone regarded Perkins as a center moreso than PF.

Centers these days aren't that bad, they're just different than what us older people are used to.
