said that Lowry eventually will be best suited for starter and AB off the bench 610 is usually fast putting up their podcasts, hope they put this up quick also
works fine for me, but JVG is already done, podcast should be coming soon One thing I'm noticing is that his answers are slowly becoming more PC oriented. Maybe it's just me, but it's not as blunt or frank.
He said it was a good trade for Orlando, because they needed to do something and they got a pretty good pg in exchange. It was also nice for Houston, because with T-Mac out for the year, they really have no hopes for the championship, so why not give Brooks a chance. He likes Lowry as well. He said it makes no sense for Memphis, though
I noticed that too. When asked if Tracy's comments about only playing with average players was an insult, JVG only said, "Well, it's certainly not a compliment." I guess he always liked Tracy but I still thought that was a copout.
funny, JVG doesn't think the trade was a move aimed at this season as well. Where's the pr hype machine?
He is part of the media now. It serves no purpose to burn bridges with his former players. He might want them to play for him when he gets a new coaching job. Before he was more blunt to call out and motivate his guys. He used the media sometimes to do it. He is very blunt when he talks about players on other teams except for the Rockets and Magic (his brother's team).
I think everyone knows Vince Carter was the face of the NBA and a superstar when he played with Mcgrady in Toronto.

Well, screw him. Screw him and his "no hopes for the championship," Barkley-esque response. Any team with a chance of making the playoffs has a chance for the championship. What about the 6th-seeded Rockets in 1995? Did anyone give the Arizona Cardinals a chance to make the Super Bowl? What about the NY Giants the year before? How about the St. Louis Cardinals who limped into the World Series? Think about it- the Cardinals won with a rotation of Anthony Reyes, Jeff Weaver, and who knows who else. Analysts think they're so smart with their predictions- anyone in the playoffs can win the championship. Probable? No. Possible? Of course. Realistic? Not as unrealistic as you think. So, screw him- he's dead to us true Rockets fan. What an idiot. Way to ruin your credibility, Jeff Van Overrated. (whew, need my meds)
Yeah I understand that, just pointing out that I noticed when he's talking these days it's measured and he gathers himself before he answers.
Next time be sure to take your meds before you get on your computer. JVG along with anyone not wearing red-shaded glasses knows this team has zero shot of a championship. Comparing this team to the 1995 team? Blasphemy.
No, no blasphemy at all. Any team in the playoffs has a shot. This is not just making things up out of thin air; there has been multiple examples of teams, huge underdogs, who have done so. "Zero shot" is ridiculous; this is what they said about the Rockets' chance of repeating in 1995; if you happen to remember from reading the now-defunct Houston Post back then, the Rockets were given zero chance to come out of the West, much less win a championship, based on their road (Utah, Phoenix, San Antonio). The Rockets were called a "one hit wonder" by many in the press back in 1995- so there's no disrespect to them. They were given no chance, so were we. Yes, they had Hakeem and Clyde, but because Dream had been injured that year, many questioned how effective he would be. And many, many pundits were commenting on Clyde being on the 'downside' of his career. You give me Yao, Artest, Scola, Battier, Landry, Brooks, Lowry, Barry and Hayes- and if we play defense like we did against the likes of Boston and Cleveland, I'm telling you that we have a chance. We do have a chance to win it all, and I own no red-shaded glasses whatsoever. Believe what you want.
