I am going to buy a new VW Golf, but cant decide between the 4 cylinder 2.0L or a TDI (turbo diesel) engine. I just worry about finding gas and all the other hassles that may come with owning one.

Does anyone have a diesel or would recommend getting one?

Yeah...you'll look REALLY nice pulling up next to an 18 wheeler or an F350 Supercab driving a VOLKSWAGON!

    "Nice rig, ya pansy!" :)

What happened to the Altima / Jetta debate? Did you decide against the dog?

Altima is still in the running if I can get one for $19,000 out the door, but I really like the Golf. The Golf has a better warranty 4/50,000, more airbags (8), and more features (sunroof, wheels).

I just worry about which car will hold up better in the long run and my instincts tell me the Altima. At this point I am starting to freak out a bit (imagine that :D )

I had to give the dog away because of my allergies.....

Forget the diesel - go for the VR6. Those are nasty!

If you want to look from a financial and economic standpoint, go diesel. THe engine will last twice as long and you will get better gas mileage. The car will also hold it's value better. Alot better.

Finding diesel isn't that hard. After awhile you know where to go. I have driven a Diesel dodge truck for the past two years, I can't see buying anything else.

Economicaly, diesel makes so much more sense.
