    Should we do this trade?

    To Dallas:
    #1 pick
    Cato
    Glen Rice

    To Houston:
    LaFrentz
    Finley

Basically Yao Ming for LaFrentz and Finley. We get our future 3 and 5 plus we dump our crappy contracts. Only downside is Finley's contract.

Finley's contract would not be a downside for the type of player he is. I can't imagine Dallas doing that trade though...I'd be happy if they did.

HELL YES. But I don't think Dallas would do this trade. They are way too close to being a great team to trade away Finley for a 2 or 3 yr project player, in my opinion.

Inquire about Duncan first, after that ask about Odom,Kandi for Cato the pick and rice.

I'd rather have Kandi over LaFrentz, and Odom over Finley.

    I'd do this:

    #1
    KT
    Glen Rice or Mo Taylor

    for

    Odom
    Kandi

But not before I ask about this:

    #1
    Rice/Taylor

    for

    Lewis@ $7M or less

You are kidding right? #1 for Rashard Lewis is pretty damn stupid.

And no way in hell would the Mavs do the first trade.

    From tonight's game:
    LaFrentz - 24 points, 13 rebounds
    Finley - 37 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists

Dallas is young and a contender for the next 5+ years with Dirk, Finley, Nash, Van Exel and Raef as their nucleus. Why would they break up that nucleus and take risk on a project? Maybe if they were rebuilding..

They would laugh at Raef and Finley for just the pick. They would just downright be insulted at the thought of that deal PLUS having to take the horrible contracts of Cato and Rice.

PEOPLE, we are talking about the #1 pick in the draft. NO WAY would i trade the pick unless we get a real IMPACT player who could play some defense in return, and Lafrentz, Finley or Lewis don't qualify.

I wonder if No 1 + KT would land Marion

I think Marion would improve Houston more than any other SF

Let me answer that for you. Cuban was on the Radio here in Dallas today and said that he did not think Ming would be worth a top ten pick. Dallas does not want Ming. Trade declined.

    How about ringing Portland?

They've been unlucky, always meeting the LA Lakers in the playoffs.

What if they consider major changes to their roster?

Would they consider trading Damon Stoudamire and Rasheed Wallace?

    Hmm...

    For whom?

Marion is a bad ass, but unfortunately he would not fit our system. We dont run and that is what Marion thrives on. He is not a real good jump shooter.

The reason I propoed the #1 for Lewis, is because we'd be getting rid of Mo Taylor in the deal. WELL worth it, but Sonics would never do it.
