The thing is that it is not like Drew is the only quality point guard on the trading block or available as a free agent this summer. There's Brevin Knight from Cleveland, Bobby Jackson from Minnesota, Mark Jackson from Indiana, all of whom are arguably better than Drew. I really can't think of that many teams where Drew could step in and be a starter. I wonder if the Rockets will get much at all for Drew.

if he was up your *oops*

Uhhh, maybe Miami's a first round loss away from rebuilding. How about Drew, Cato and Mobley for Alonzo?

Oakdog, I agree we might not get much for Drew, but the list you show suggests maybe we can. Drew to me is worth equally or more than all those guys (not saying he is the equal player, but worth includes potential), well at least the Jackson's anyway (Bobby can't shoot a lick and Mark is way old and slow).

Now if we talk tweeners like D. Anderson or our own CM, he can't hold a candle to them in terms of value.

Clippers, Golden State, Bulls. None have a good point guard. All have very high picks. All of them know how slow it can be to rebuild with picks.

Package him for a top 3 pick baby!

He's gonna be the one with that stick at Astroworld--you know the one I'm talking about; that stick that shows which kids are tall enough to ride the cyclone.

Miami? Do you guys think Drew is better than Anthony Carter?

That's a good list, Sherlock. Any of y'all want to speculate on what the Rockets would want from these teams?

BTW, I don't think Golden State has its pick this year.

I think we all know how good Bryce can be...but has the league taken notice?

I'm afraid that we might not get enough for Bryce, which is why I want to package the guy with Walt Williams. That way, we'll be able to get a quality player. Not only has Walt been on fire lately, but his contract is also much bigger.

As far as the bet goes, I'm going for the Clippers as well.

I agree with you Clutch on the assesment of Bryce. he will, IMO, be a very good player for someone. My best bet would be to a team that has a dominant offensive post player. Someone mentioned the Lakers, maybe the Spurs, the Heat, hopefully not the Jazz (I hate to think about anyone playing there).
I like Bryce but he won't get the minutes that he needs here.

I'd feel bad if we sent Drew to the Clippers. While I'd feel like we were doing a public service by liberating some other poor soul from that team, Drew did nothing to deserve such shoody treatment. He's a good player who is a victim of circumstance in not getting the minutes and then we add injury to insult by sending him to the Clips? Perhaps we can make oursleves a more attractive FA destination by publicly NOT trading with LAC. That way, FAs can be confident in signing long-term deals that they won't be regretting it later.

Drew does have potential..but barring major injuries, he will not get the PT here to realize that potential. Hasn't he come up with some good totals when he got the chance for starts?(I'm no good with stats,so maybe the stat-meisters can correct me if I'm wrong)

No-Worries...realistically he is not CBA- bound his skills are still needed here in the NBA.

Achebe....do you really think that Riles will allow the best defensive player in the East to leave his team??? I personally consider that a long-shot at best.

I'm gonna have to agree with Will on this one...Drew has the look that the Jazz-asses love, and will be needing a PG like him when their dinosaur PG retires after this year.

And last but not least....Dickerson said it right
No one deserves to be sent to the Clip-joint

A deal I would love to happen would be Bryce Drew, matt Bullard to Orlando for Bo Outlaw. Good defensive player in the paint and a high energy, hard working player and can ball handle. I know you may say he ain't a starter but I think he's better than Kenny. Carlos could start and Outlaw come off the bench [IMG].

Do you seriously consider Drew an upgrade over Matt Maloney in Chicago??? I don't. Drew dreams about playing defense as well Matt [IMG] Sad but true.

Clips might take Drew since they can be counted on to make questionable personnel decisions. But whatever the Cips are offering, I am sure the Rockets don't want or need.

Toronto is rumored to have interest in the Rock's short, white, slow, no hops, but smart point guards. I have never believed the rumors.

Indiana may want Drew, since it may be good PR to have him as their 12th player. Of course, Indiana will only be willing to trade their end of bench players to get Drew (like Zan Tabak).

The CBA is not that much out of the question.

If Miami gets tossed out again in the first round, I'm hoping that Riley sees the writing on the wall and disbands his warriors out across the NBA

It would be nice if he correspondingly takes a job at the Clippers to prove that he is the master of the Universe, or LA, whichever's smaller.

Actually, we don't need another playoff team in the West - perhaps he could coach in Boston?

Anyway, Tim Hardaway sprained his own ankle on his last crossover, so Miami will need a bit more depth there at the #1.

oakdog- yeah, I think you're right about that Golden State pick. Isn't it going to Chicago?

No Worries- I think that Drew is a better ball handler, passer, and defender than Maloney. Also better at penetrating and dishing, and also has that nice floater in the lane. We're talking about Maloney here, so that's not saying a lot. But still, I think Drew will truly be a benefit to the team he starts for.

In his five games as a starter this year, Drew averaged:
    17.2 points
    6.6 assists
    1.8 turnovers (3.66 assist/to ratio- nice)
    2.8 rebounds
    44.7 fg%
    38.7 3pt%
    1.0 steal

in 42.8 minutes a game. It's only five games, and it's a lot of minutes, but with him having very limited opportunities in just his second year, I think the kid can play ball given the chance.
