I'm with you, most T-Mac haters take one passage from this story and run with it. Look at what he said, If he had Shaq, Duncan, etc. when he was in Orlando and healthy, he would have had a better chance of winning a title. When he came to Houston, he WAS on average teams and teams with injuries. In the 05' play-offs against Dallas ,Juwan Howard and Bobby Sura got hurt , in 06' T-Mac was out for the year. In 07' outside of T-Mac and Yao they had an avearage team, Luther Head hit one shot the whole play-off series. Last year '08, Yao was hurt. SO HE IS RIGHT!!!!! MOST FANS DON'T LIKE TO HEAR THE TRUTH, BECAUSE IT HURTS!!

Michael Jordan had average teams too, so did Hakeem, the difference?

They competed night in and night out....they weren't worried about being a "Global Icon"

I can't wait until he is gone.

Different times, different teams and different aspects. I wouldn't call the Chicago Bulls an "average" team either. Tracy is no Jordan, of course. However, comparing teams from different era's can be very misleading.

Tracy is nothing more than a luxury car sitting inside of a garage without wheels, day by day getting rustier and plain useless. You fully know the potential of this car, this player. You would think he expired as an elite monster we once had, perhaps you are right. We will miss him in the playoffs, that was a given ever since a surgeon poked a dozen holes in his knee.

there was a thread on this already?

like I said in the other thread... I was a Toronto Fan... before Tmac came into the league so I knew how good he was....

Tmac fan boys need to shut it... (fan boys from his Orlando days who only see his two scoring titles... but forget that he had to average 22 and 24 shots a game to get them)

if Tmac did not screw over Toronto... and leave for Orlando to be "THE MAN"

he would have got out of the 1st round already... and had a good chance to have won a title...

so enough about he never had the team...

he did... he just didnt want to be second fiddle... to this day he has always wanted to be "THE MAN" unless somthing goes wrong... then he just has been on "average teams"

He is making himself outside the team. It's as if he were not a part of the team.

    Selfishness on display.

This is a poor statement because #1 McGrady was a free agent and decided to go to Orlando because it was close to home. Get your facts straight. He didn't screw Toronto over or anything. Vince was the man and he was in his shadows.

As for your scoring title statement. How else would someone win the scoring title? Kobe averaged around the same or even more. Jordan was way higher. Its obvious if your going for the scoring title you shoot more!!!!. Its obvious that when in Orlando McGrady had no one else who was willing to take the shots. Grant Hill was injured and Mike Miller was traded. With those two guys healthy and playing in the weak Eastern Conference I might ask that team would have been dangerous. But the past is the past.

LOL your crazy if you think Jordan had an average team :D . I don't know any average team he was one that won 6 titles with him on them. Might I add he had one hell of a coach.

    get your statements right...

Tmac left Toronto... because Tmac's mother said he would always be second fiddle behind Vince Carter...

ontop of that he made verbal assurances that he would be staying in Toronto...

"As for your scoring title statement. How else would someone win the scoring title?"

you are right... shooting 24 and 23 shots a game to average 32 and 28 points a game is no big deal ou just shoot more...

my question to you is... then why are you such a Tmac fan boy?

Yao is definitely no Shaq or duncan...i wish he was but you know what he lacks? Poise and being decisive...if he gets better at that than there would be no doubt that he's the best center in the league.

Tmac an esshole...forget him and his cry baby attitude. I'm mad at myself for being a tmac defender but know i dislike him. Always making excuses and wishing to be on a situation where he gets carried, but still want the spotlight.

I'm glad he'll never be in the HOF and will probably end up being referred to as the big let down...any player in the future that has high hopes but never succeeds will end up being compared to Tmac hahahahha

Nah, f*** that... You can say anything about Luther Head...

But you don't ever diss on my favorite players like.. YAO, Scola, Landry, Artest, Barry, Wafer, Brooks, Battier, Hayes, etc.

TMac, nobody on the team is average. Their hearts are screaming out championship material...

If you can't take them to the finals, it's on you, like you said from the beginning.

I'm ready for Morey to trade next season.

I'm ready for a new star.

I am just curious how many here would love to punch T Miserable in the nose. Seriously!! This guy takes the cake... I was so excited when we got him. I have pictures of my co workers and myself jumping for joy when they announced it... I have pictures of the press congress that I took off of work to go see.. and cheer my ars off for when he was introduced.. Again I say.

How many would like to punch him right in his nose? I know I would. I wish he would have never worn a Rox jersey because he is a disgrace!

And by the way... Switch him out for Paul Pierce at the same time.... Bet ya anything PP would not make a comment like that.

McGrady is a little cry baby like all of the so called NBA stars. Apparently, I heard from a source that he was at Treasures on Wed night. That shows real committment to the team. Get his ass out of here!

I was thinking the same thing about McGrady. Its amazing the debate will be who was the worst rocket. Was it SheMac or Scottie Quitten? McGrady is a week willed individual; its pretty said when Battier is saying that his knee is in worse shape. Sad thing is there is no trade value for him at this point.

I was also thinking that Tracy just joined ClutchFans as well...

Anyways, in regards to the quote, I think it's unfortunate he views his "average" team that way. Yao, while being a non-factor in the playoffs due to outside circumstances, has really become a man of his own and a dominant factor in the NBA. Also, I think I blame some of TMac's comments on himself because as a star, it's his job to help the younger talent develop and blossom - he never did that. I think that's a reason that Kobe and Jordan have gotten so much praise over the years. Sure, they play with great people, but they're also known for involving and developing their teammates into great players. I just never feel TMac did that.

Of course one has to consider the context in which this comment was made, but what a douche bag!

Actually some ppl are doing that right now. I've seen some polls regarding how good Kevin Durant will be in the future. It's either his career can take off like LeBron or be a superstar disappointment like Tmac.

Tmac is becoming the what-if superstar version of Kobe these days. Superstar that never met potential. Very sad. What's even funny is that Kevi n Durant aspires to be like Tmac LOL. I hope its not the mentality part lol.

agreed, he can't handle the fact that he's now probably the most overrated "superstar" player in the league... the man gets hurt getting off the bench for gods sake.

This quote doesn't surprise me at all, I'm sorry to say...
