I like Bryce Drew.... personally I think he needs time to develop, which he hasn't gotten. When he has seen starters minutes he's put up some decent numbers. With Francis a 35-40 minute a game player and Moochie Norris stepping up, I'm sure Drew will be dealt -- for the betterment of both parties. So question: Where do you think Bryce Drew will end up? Of course I have absolutely no basis for what I'm guessing here -- just taking a semi-educated nab at it here, but I think he'll be with the Clips or the Raptors, two teams that need a point guard desperately and might be looking at deals this offseason. ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
I see him going to the Lakers or Utah. He's gonna haunt us too, just like all of the other XRockets. RoCkS ------------------
Bryce "double b" Drew (backstreet boy) will end up either in clipper-town or in dallas (maybe we can make a push for nowitzki or trent) ..i like bryce very much, but he needs minutes to develope his game and he won´t get ém here in houston... i also think that he has realized his situation and asked for a trade yet.. JUAN VALDEZ: not a single nba-player deservs it to play for the clips!!! (ok, quitten for sure) ------------------ bring dickie back!!!!!
Let's see . . . What team might be looking to replace its aging point guard with a choirboy-looking white guy who isn't the greatest ballhandler but can pass, shoot, make good decisions, run the pick and roll, and toss floaters in the lane? Hmmmmm . . . If those idiots had played it right, they could have had him in a deal for Shandon Anderson.
if we can't include him in a trade for Duncan then trade him to Indiana for Austin Croshere. We'd probably have to add a player like Bullard or maybe a future pick. Pacers need a 4th young guard after Miller, Jackson and Best and they have a glut at back-up forward with Bender and Harrington. Bryce gets to go to his homestate and we get a pretty good starting power forward in Croshere. Don't tell me he's not athletic enough either because that's just not true.
i could be wrong, and i probably am, but isn't drew a free agent? because mobley's a free agent so wouldn't he be? or is that only for second round picks like mobley? too many questions not enough substance. sorry. ------------------
i doubt he'll go to the lakers..Phil didnt think much of him after bryce showed them a thing or too.He didnt even know his name. What about Utah? doubt it though they dont have much to give. ------------------
NY - is my favorite They've got a lot of forwards, and I wouldn't mind getting Kurt Thomas (preferrable) or maybe John Wallace for Drew. Don't know if Drew's the style of PG (esp. on D, also they play open court) they want though. Toronto, Lakers, Utah - what do they have we want? Clippers - we need frontcourt players, and they will too once Mo Taylor leaves. drew for Brian Skinner is an idea, but i don't know if the clips would want to lose him after Mo is gone Indiana - already have Best, IMO, it would take more than Drew to get Croshere Charlotte - already have '99 #3 pick Davis Spurs - already have Antonio Daniels ------------------
oakdogg, Croshere is a free agent so it would be a sign and trade deal. He won't start in Indiana because of Dale Davis and Jalen Rose but he could start here at the 4 because he is better than Kenny or Carlos. Best is OK but plays more like a 2 guard than a 1. I think he and Drew could play at the same time. Drew signed a 4 year deal not 3. So he has 2 more years left before free agency. [This message has been edited by outlaw (edited April 17, 2000).]
Outlaw: OUCH! If those guys traded Austin Croshere (currently the team's 2nd best player after Rose) for Drew and Bullard, they don't deserve to be in the front office! Re-signing Rose and Croshere are top priorities, even ahead of Miller and Jackson. Jackson IMO won't be back with the Pacers. My guess is that Drew will end up in Toronto for a late first round draft pick (maybe 25-30). ------------------ $42million. 7 years. I didn't say it was an even trade talentwise, few sign-and-trade deals are. But if Rudy could convince Austin to come here where he can be a starter compared to Indiana where he'd come off the bench I think he'd choose Houston. Plus since Bird is leaving and Miller, Smits and Davis are aging rapidly, he'd want to come to a team with a brighter future than the Pacers. Indiana could either lose him for nothing or get a decent guard in Bryce (who they would need if Jackson won't be back as you say) [This message has been edited by outlaw (edited April 17, 2000).]
Croshere is a decent younger player and one with potential--but he is not better than Rose, Miller or Davis. He also is a free agent, I could see him coming here for our mid-exemption or not at all. Indiana will have to dole out the big money to Rose and Miller first, I am not sure they can take care of Croshere too (I agree he would be a higher priority than M. Jackson though), we will see. They also have even younger forwards in Bender & Harrington so they may not sweat losing Croshere so much. And other than Indiana, I don't see Croshere getting more than the mid-level exemption signing anywhere else, those few big money slots floating around the league will be saved for the McGrady's, Hill's and Duncan's. ------------------
to the spurs in a mega deal that sends duncan here: spurs get: kelvin cato cuttino mobley bryce drew carlos rogers draft pick rockets get: tim duncan antonio daniels ------------------ johnny "red" kerr:i'm glad the bulls did'nt draft steve francis. dan roan: why!!!!! johnny red kerr:because he would forever be compared to michael jordan.
brahma, you can't include Mobley or Daniels in a Duncan deal because you can't have more than one free agent invloved in a sign-and-trade deal. I suppose you could have a seperate sign-and-trade of Mobley to the Spurs for say Jaren Jackson. But the NBA would probably frown upon such side deals.
Could we trade Drew and Walt to NY for Marcus Camby? Or maybe Drew and Cato? ------------------ No matter how badly the idiots may outmumber you, they're still the idiots.
