For the best fried shrimp in town go to barbque inn on cross timbers. An old school diner, family owned and serving since the 1940's.

As a native I can tell you without a doubt you can't better fried catfish or shimp in the city.

The fried chicken, chicken fried steak and BBQ aren't bad either.

Trulucks as well as McCormicks and Schmicks are both pretty good.

I'm doing Danton's for my birthday later in the week. Danton's is the new gulf coast seafood place on Montrose in the Chelsea Market area, between Richmond and Bissonnet. They have a cool blues brunch on Sundays as well. Will report back and let you know, my homies! :)

Been there. Tony Mandola's Gulf Coast kitchen blows it away. If you go to Mandola's get the calimari "mama" and the snapper Bernadette. ;)

Reef is good, but not as great as I expected. Truluck's would be my favorite.
