Those of you who live in Austin, I need some help... I'm graduating from UT this month but not moving to my new place until substantially later this summer. UT has threatened to cut off my computer account on June 1st, so my dialup access will probably be cut off with it.

I need some sort of ISP - doesn't have to be fancy. I've never had to set up anything but University-related stuff before. The problem is that I hear many of them require a certain length contract, and I'll only be in town two or three months. Will they mind if I just pay for it and don't end up using all of it? Are any of you on an ISP that doesn't require a huge commitment? The idea of being without Internet access for a whole summer is a little too much... Thanks!!!

(oh, and nothing that would substantially reconfigure your computer - unfortunately, that means all those AOL CD's are right out. I use them as drink coasters.)

EV1's a good service... I use it now, and I used it when I lived in Austin. I don't know if I'd recommend it for a 3 month deal though. There was a fairly large ($30 or so) "activation fee" when I first got the service. So while she wouldn't be forced to sign a contract, she'd end up paying $60 for her three months of service.

While we're at it... I'm moving to Austin in late August for college. What kind of speeds does Autin Roadrunner get?

I also want to get the NBA PPV pack thing for cable, how much does that cost in Austin? If I don't get the NBA package thing, how often do games come on TV?
