After the game, when Artest seemed to want to go after a referee it showed me that he played with his heart at the end of the game and not his mind at all. He tried to play the role of hero and he failed this time. As a Rockets fan, it really sucked to see the Rockets lose yesterday and it was discouraging to see Ron Artest start chucking. Artest let his emotions get the best of him. I'm afraid when this happens because Artest goes into me-mode. The whole game, yes he had some iso plays, but at the same time he also played within the system. It was these last few minutes that I think he was insanely pissed off that they lost the lead that he clearly lost it. This is the Artest most Rockets fans were afraid of last night. He actually lost it. I'm glad Deke and Turner stayed to take the guy back into the locker room. I feel that his season could have been put on hold if he would of done something stupid after the game. I love Ron Ron. I'm not really bothered by his style of play. I knew this is the way he played and he wouldn't change it. I appreciate his defense and his effort and overall leadership that he has been attempting to display. I just hope that we can control his temper because I was worried he was going after someone last night and risking suspension.
Eh. Who cares. Sometimes the referees need a good punch or a slashing of the tires as they say in France.
only one song can describe Ron Artest. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/j-sb6mfR9lQ&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/j-sb6mfR9lQ&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
dam..i wanted him to punch the monkey out of those referees last night... maybe then artest could be the referee police " you f0ck up, i **** up your face kinda police"
It's amazing how one shot can take him from a hero to a douche. Yao wasn't even able to get the ball, shane wasn't taking the shot, brooks/lowry were being held in check by a number one pick, the lane was clogged by two near 7 footers, and whoever was guarding wafer actually HELD him, until y'all realize there was more to this game than one mistake, or bad play, etc. then all this is pointless. I blame ron for the TYPE of shot he took, not because he took it, both 3s in the second to last play were pretty much open shots, and he just missed, that last second shot he may have been fouled, but its stupid to blame it completely on him or say "he lost it". If you've seen Ron enough, you know there's two negative emotional sides to him, the crazy insane kind, and the whiny baby kind. Last night was the whiny baby kind, he wasn't looking to hit or mess anyone up, he was just wanting to state his case, i think he actually got annoyed by DEKE more than the play, he didn't like the fact that deke acted like Ron wouldn't be able to keep himself from doing something stupid. If you watch a replay, right before they go into the tunnel, Ron turns around, and i'm pretty sure he asks Deke, "don't y'all trust me".........I don't blame Deke for doing it though, its better to be safe than sorry, but this whole season i've never felt Ron was close to blowing up, not when he defended Yao or tracy, never. I think he's past all that agressive nonsense, but you're never going to take the competitive side away, so he's always going to compete, complain, and celebrate in his own way, but within the rules. Its only a story because he's RON ARTEST.
I personally haven't seen it but I have been waiting for that Artest, the Artest we same against the Jazz last year where he yelled NO LAYUPS !! We all used this phrase when he was acquired and now people are scared he might go after a referee. Vernon Maxwell was 10 times worse and everybody loves him and loved him for his attitude and the emotions he showed. The same reason why we should love Ron Artest. However, the part that he supposedly didn't like Deke 'holding him back' and said something to him is not promising. I have noticed Deke isn't as happy as he was last year and maybe Ron's attitude has something to do with it. I hope this is note the case though....
Someone link me to the vids of all this stuff. I am sure I wasn't the only bad Rockets fan drunk at cookoff.
Management and Fans shouldn't complain. I mean this is Ron Artest. They wanted Ron for what he does and who he is as a basketball player so this shouldn't shock anyone. Let Ron be Ron.
Who's complaining? I didn't make this point being angry at Ron. I'm not angry at Ron Ron. I'm just worried about him. I don't know where in my post it seems like I'm complaining, but that's the last thing I'm doing. I love Ron Ron.
Perhaps i overexaggerated the part of him not liking deke holding him back, this was merely an observation and ron himself didn't admit or say anything about this. My point was that Ron was probably annoyed by the fact that he wasn't trusted to complain to the refs without fear of him becoming physical and that probably upset him more than the actual play, but even then he really wasn't angry. I think that's more human nature than ron being ron, how many of us haven't been annoyed by a friend holding us back when we're angry? and why are we annoyed? Because we know we're not going to go WWF on anyone, we just want to get our point across and our friend is letting us, it was just blown out of proportion because he's ron.
does anyone have a video of artest losing it last night? I didn't see the end of the game where this happened.
It seriously was overblown, he didn't lose it, he didn't even really go after anyone. It didn't even happen right after the play. Basically: ron hits the floor on the final shot, looks up as if to say where's the foul...he then says boodbye to the players, handshakes, high fives, etc. (to bulls players and teammates) just like any other game. Then after this he lingers on the court talking about the play, i didnt even see any refs in the shot, looks like he was talking to someone on the scorer's table, maybe a announcer or a coach standing near there. He wasn't angry, wasn't chasing anyone, just talking. Deke basically came over to say the game's over, forget it and lets go. Ron keeps talking and Deke kinda yelled at him to get his attention, Ron realizes Deke is really worried about him so ron hugs him and basically says it's cool, then Ron outs an arm around deke and they walk off to the locker room. Ron even high fives all the fans on his way back, he wasn't even upset., then as they reach the tunnel he looks back at deke and the asst coach behind him and says "hey don't y'all trust me".. That was it. You can tell the crowd and ushers sort of tensed up during that moment, but again it's because it was ron artest so everyone expects drama. It looked worse than it was because deke was trying to usher him away, so it creates the illusion that ron was going after someone. Had deke not been there, ron probably would have talked some more and then just walked off.
He was the reason we were out to a decent lead in the first place. He just got mad because the whole team blew it on both ends in the 4th.
