Marbury never played on a good team like the Celtics. You give a guy like Marbury a team like the Celtics, its going to be hard for that one guy to take the team down. Hes not coming in as the main guy as he did in the past. Now, he has a role to play. He screws up, hes gone just like that. Starbury knows this.
Exactly. All of that money didn't just fly out into thin air, folks. Am I the only one who threw up in my mouth a little when Marbury got a standing O? Can someone please explain to me why a punk who dragged his organization through hell and got paid 20 million to quit deserves a standing O...? I missed something.
Heard the Celts paid him the full vets min 1.7M so he could get his buyout from NY. Walsh wouldn't let him go for < than a 1M discount.
Because he's a talented punk who's playing for a new team and will be an integral part of their championship repeat. He's with them for the rest of the year so might as well show him a warm welcome. What are they supposed to do boo him? We have Ron Artest on our team and you're probably a fan. Don't be a hypocrite.
Exactly, we cheered for Ron when he got here. You know the same guy that wanted time off a playoff contending team so he could promote his CD. How soon do people forget when the guy is now on your team.
It helps them a lot because like Head, House is best off the ball and not handling it. So Doc can now sit his starting wings and not have to worry about who will handle the rock off the pine. Plus Marubry can create his own shot...well the old Marbury could. Boston didn't have a bench player who could do that either. I haven't seen tons of Celtic games this year, but in the few I have seen whenever Boston didn't have a starting wing on the court they struggled.
I doubt it happens at all...the guy knows it is another chance, and a legitmate one at a ring. Before Lowry for Rafer, I would have taken a shot at him. DD
If he whined about his playing time they could easily cut him. This is a no lose situation for the Celtics. And I doubt he will do any whining.
