    I enjoyed listening to late night replays of Paul Harvey when I was a kid. I had horrible insomnia and generally fell asleep listening to talk/news radio on a timer clock radio I had.

    I remember I used to listen to him when I was a kid in Houston. He had a great voice for reading those pages. :)

    I never heard the guy on the radio, but I did read some of his books. They were quite good.

    he ruffled a lot of feathers with remarks that can only be interpreted as bigoted or xenophobic. but at least he was honest

    he said something once that belittled katrina survivors and another time he made a stupid comment about iraqis and cockfighting or whatever. he was subtle with it but there is no doubt in my mind he was bigoted

    but again the guy is from a diff era and iam sorry did not mean to derail this thread. best of luck to his fam
