I thought the counter measure to the fronting defence was the man at the top of the key, whom we can then use to either knock down the 15 foot jump shot or lob it back to Yao when he seals his man on the other side. The lakers do that a lot with Odom and Gasol. We just need big men or players that are comfortable making that pass. I think putting Shane in that position isn't such a bad idea since he's pretty good at those post entry passes.
LOL Okay Born that should be funny I will admit I hate to lose but I never give up on this team. Like tonight I was headed from a sports bar to a dance club and when I saw the score I said F it I'm going home I'll be looking for that post but be careful
Rox is currently not a championship team. They still need a closer. It's hard for Yao to be the closer as it is quite hard for a low post guy to do that If Rox can respond tomorrow, it will be a huge step for them.
Did I say it was okay to blow a lead, all i said was that it is stupid listening to certain people start making rediculous accusations about this team. Im a HS Varsity Coach in this area, do you think I would ever be okay with blowing this kind of lead. I would be banging my head against a locker until school started the next day.
One game, one lesson learned. Ron.....darn it...played great until the end, he choked. But honestly, if he is doing that...stop passing him the darned ball. DD
Beating the lowly Minny. Wolves will be a big step? Actually I agree. Any road win is a good win for this Rockets team.
Well, then what would you do if one guy started shooting every time down (even if he had been hot) and the rest of the team was standing around watching? Meanwhile you have a 7'6" guy in the post that is dominant against ANYONE the other team has.... This was a clear case of the Rockets losing focus and getting caught up in the momentum of the other team...and rather than stemming the tide with hardened steel like resolve, they choked and defered to a crazy man jacking up dumb shot after dumb shot. Stupid, stupid, stupid. DD
I agree completely. Unfortunately, Aaron is a ball stopper as well, which is why he plays so poorly when his shot doesn't fall. That's why having Lowry as opposed Alston here is so important, because Alston also dribbles out the clock and is a worse shooter than Aaron at the same time. Rip Hamilton and Prince or even Billups would of been perfect for this system... Too bad Les rejected the notion of the T-mac trade earlier.
They were never a championship team with $20 MM of talent missing. We need players that can post into the post under pressure, and it doesn't take a super star to do that.
the possession before the last one - do you think that was called by adelman or it's just a broken play? just curious to know your thoughts. it seemed odd to me that we tried a 3, since we're only down 2.
Honestly can we look at this team and say they can win it all ? Compare them to the Lakers, Spurs, Celtics, hell even the team I hate the most the Jazz ? With one more legit monster like Wade, Kobe or Lebron then yes they are a championship team. The Rockets are a good team but they have two problems 1. A true leader 2. a pg with experience and until you get those two ingridients your just a good MAYBE 2nd round team at best
The team had lost focus long before that....if I was running the point, I would have stopped passing the ball to Ron at the top of the circle...and driven past Rose....for a score or to get the D rotating. Ron stunk it up at the end, but AB has got to wave him off.... DD
Too many bad shots near the end. Not ALL his fault. Partly do to the offense becoming stagnant, some times he got the ball with under 10 seconds left...so in those situations he had to make something happen. Should drove it in though, relied too much on the three...but this lost is not purely on him. It's not like how Sage choked it away against the Colts
Exactly but do you think AB is going to wave off Ron ? I doubt it I'm sure Ron said " give me the f'in ball everytime or else and AB being the young pg that he is just passed it to him !!
Yao has a jumper, why not pick n' pop once in a while? Adelman is supposedly a smart coach but can't figure out a game plan to free Yao.
that possession was right after the timeout though... just a really bad play imo. and aaron, having only started 10 or so games, cannot have learned waving someone off yet.
AB was not exactly trustworthy at that point himself. Both him and Artest were trying to make things happen themselves and refused to give up the ball. Maybe having Barry at that point might have helped, although he was pretty much having a stinker up to that point.
