He is a week away from his 37th birthday. This is unbelieveable. Shaq was the best player in the NBA since Michael Jordan...we'll miss him when he's gone.

It wont change anything. Look at the highlights.

When Shaq got the ball down low opponents moved away.

When Yao gets the ball down low opponents swarm Yao.

from espn, O'Neal downplayed the caliber of defender, though, saying he could do the same thing whether against Yao Ming or Tim Duncan.

Shaq can do whatever he wants for all i care...he can score 70 but as long as we win, thats what counts, not stats

But in reality, that wouldn't happen...shaq is strong and push Yao around sometimes but he will get tired cuz it takes a lot of energy out of him so he couldn't sustain it

Just noticing, any good performance Shaq has his ego just seems to grow, he has no sense of humility or grace. Guys like Hakeem, Yao or Kareem Abdul Jabbar tend to be rather humble in their individual accomplishments, yet Shaq is the exact opposite, I remember when Yao killed him in that game against Miami he refused to acknowledge that Yao thoroughly outplayed him.

He scored 45 against the softest team in basketball. They have a 7 ft. SG for a center and an overrated Chris Bosh protecting the paint. How can you not double/front a guy that's lighting you up? Not impressed with Shaq's 45 since they were mostly dunks.

I'd run too if I saw Shaq coming at me. Would be nasty to get dunked on by that.

Shaq as he ages is becoming a better player for my personal opinion, I hold him higher than most centers now moreso than before. No center in recent years or decades was capable of what he can still do at his age.

I actually saw that comment as him praising Yao since he's comparing him to Tim Duncan.

Yao isn't as dominant as Shaq. Shaq makes you move or you get punished, Yao gets fouled easily because he hardly attempts to dunk on people. I'm pretty sure if Yao pulls a goal down, opponents will run.

To the guy who put Yao Ming in the same breath as Kareem or Dream: you are an idiot!

Moving on: Shaq is the best big man I have ever seen play the game, and yes that includes Dream. Dream is far more talented than Shaq, but in terms of impact and career accomplishments, or outright impact on a team's success, Shaq is the only center I would put in the same sentence with Kareem, Wilt and Russell. Shaq has a had a much longer 'prime' or productive years now that most centers that have ever played the game, perhaps only second to Kareem (who had ridiculous longevity).

If I had to go with a top 5, Dream would definitely be on there.

    Russell
    Wilt
    Kareem
    Dream
    Shaq

That right there is the Mt. Rushmore of Big Men.

Those who downplay a 37 year old center dropping 45 points on 20/25 shooting, you are also idiots. How many great centers have put up 40+ points on 80% in NBA history? Good luck with that!

Shaq can talk all the trash he wants, and have as big an ego as he wants, he FULLY earned everything he has and then some. He is a true badass on AND off the court. No other big man in the league is even worthy of sniffing his jocks. Just be objective for a second and take off your homer glasses.

Just facts, want to argue numbers please bring it on, because it will only make my case.

Toronto is a pathetic defensive team. We all remembered they let Kobe score 80 on them. Firing Sam Mitchell made them one of the worst team in the league. What a waste of talents on that team.
