I think this guy usually places pretty well at big SF2 tournaments. I found his commentary annoying though.
I dedicated an hour or two to unlock chars but got tired of spamming heavy kicks after unlocking Akuma Gonna try to get Gouken this weekend I think, I haven't even played through the Arcade with Akuma yet Been using most of my time ever since trying to get good with Bison, not working too well though
he's not that good check out this video <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yyjGQgccLNU&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yyjGQgccLNU&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
HMM delicious combos, but we've all seen combo movies man I'd be interested in finding more of good youtube channels that has online SF4 plays frequently updated
Small addition to how to unlock Gouken: Gouken - First complete Arcade mode with Akuma. Then complete the Arcade mode with any character with which you've previously finished the game, and in this play-through perform 3 to 9 Ultra finishes, get 2 to 4 Perfect rounds, get 5 to 20 "First Attacks" and don't lose even one round. On one of my playthroughs I had a few too many perfects and I was dumbfounded when I didn't fight him. Really odd they put that cap on the number of perfects, but Sagat will get the job done!
I haven't tried it yet. I will soon however. Been busy with school for the most part since it's been out. What I want to know though, is why do you ask? Do the elites think that that mode is the true test of skill? Let me know how you all deem the game to be played. I'm jkin btw. No hate Tinman.
i forgot which one it was, but there's one challenge that's all training. they give you a combo that you must do to complete it. there's some ridiculous ones. i think you open a new color choice. I finished the Ken one. yes it was freaking hard. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/KFffmIlov00&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KFffmIlov00&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Nice. I'm going to start messing with the modes outside of the arcade once I have everyone unlocked. At the very least, the challenge modes are a necessity so that I learn new combos for when I actually start playing online. I've heard of people having 15-75 records and I don't want that bad of a record. I want to be completely prepared for when I start that up. Of course, my stubborn use of mere controller puts me at an automatic disadvantage, right? I actually bought the Hori Stick for the PS3 in anticipation of using it with Street Fighter IV, but...... I just couldn't do it. I grew up playing Street Fighter on my Super Nintendo, not in the arcades. Feels off. I'm thinking of getting the Street Fighter FightPad for the 360 and switching to that because I know more people on it.
nice videos lol I don't think its a true test of skill, but that challenge mode is pretty hard. I'm trying to work on Guile right now
True, but I've heard of some hardcore players that couldn't finish some of the challenges. So, if you can finish some characters full challenge modes, then at the very least, you're not too shabby. Online is a completely different monster, of course.
Yea those challenges require some crazy timing. I finished all of Blanka's challenges on medium and hard and they were pretty damn difficult. Especially with the charge characters where you have to figure out exactly what point to start charging their move mid-combo.
Is there an arcade stick out there that doesn't have a square gate besides the X-arcade? The TE and the regular version of the fighting sticks both have square gates and I can't stand it. I don't know how people can play with that.
this game is so difficult, especially Seth, and those challenges. i almost broke my controller playing it.
Man the people who disconnect before they lose are much worse there. They aren't penalizing these guys are they? I took my losses early like a man and now that I'm able to play better with Abel it sucks I can't get any BP because of the disconnects.
I think I've had a few of those disconnnects. I'm not sure if they are penalizing though. Other than that, recently I been playing so many Ken, Akuma, Ryu, Sagat players which gets pretty much lame. lol
Okay, serious question here: Is there any reason to play Dan, other than as a joke/humiliating opponents? I know his genesis was as a "joke" character in Street Fighter Alpha, after all. Is there any more reason to use him now than there was then? I just don't see how he could ever be more effective than Ryu/Ken/Akuma. It's just that so many reviewers seem to hyperbolize about how every character is equal in SF4 and no character choice will put you at a disadvantage... when it seems to me that clearly Dan is an exception to that rule. Will the SF experts please educate me here?
