where's a cool, fun place to work for a 17 year old? no lifeguarding, camp counseling, or anything like that...what's a good store or place to work at for good pay?

I wish I could get a 17-year old's job again. I'd work at a bookstore. Not a Barnes & Noble type thing, but some little, dingy place.

When I was 17 I bussed tables at Outback Steakhouse in First Colony. Pretty good pocket money, and I got to party with the college crowd. If I was even a couple of years older back then, I could've nailed at least 2 or 3 of the hot waitresses. :)

Look around at West Oaks or First Colony Mall. They're always looking for people. I had a friend who used to work at the Abercrombie in First Colony, and he gave us some pretty good discounts.

When I was 17, I landed the front door job at The Men's Club. I doubt you'll get that lucky, but good luck to you anyway. ;)

I know people who say that they enjoyed working for clothing stores...Not sure about the pay, but I am sure that most would at least offer some kind of employee discount.

A music store seems like it would be fun as well.

DrewP knows where its at baby!

I bus tables. What a great F-ing job...hot waitresses, great pay, nice employers. But you hafta work. I used to work at the Gap in Rice VIllage, DO NOT WORK AT A CLOTHING STORE. That is unless you need a reason to commit suicide due to unbelievable, hallucinations-inducing boredom. FoldFold"howareyoutoday"foldfoldkillyourself.

Also, Try working at a place where you know the management on a personal level, if possible. I've had bad, bad experiences with bosses that I didn't know outside the workplace.

I used to want to work at Cactus Music, but as I grew older the people that worked at music stores began to creep me out. Yeah dude, I'm sure Slipknot and Marduk rule all, please don't touch me.

I believe is $2.25/hr. + tip share, which is a percentage of that night's sales. Your hourly pay ranges between $6.50 and $8.50 depending on what night you're working. For example Thursday-Saturday is usually really good.

If you want a job, just go in around 3 o'clock on a weekday (not Friday) and ask to talk to Sean (manager).
